  1. 3. Why do we seek to be independent of asking anyone for help? Why do we seek to be independent of God? Why should we ask God to "give" us daily bread so long as we can earn a living for ourselves? We like to think that we are the center of the universe - we are the important one - we are the smart one. We are knowledgeable - our decisous are good - we like to feel independant. I have a job - I make money - I bought this house - this food - I am the provider. We are the selfish "I" We have all these self sufficient things because God allowed us to have them - he gave them to us. We are completely reliant on God for our daily needs - it is through his kindness and grace that we are permitted to have what we have. When Solomon asked for Wisdom God not only granted him his wish but also made him very rich. We need to rely on God not just for our "daily bread" but for all aspects of our lives.
  2. In what sense are we asking that the Father's kingdom should come? Why are we asking for the Father's will to be done here on earth? How should this prayer affect our living? We are asking for His will to be done in our lives and pray that those we love will open their hearts to the Lord, also. As we can all see the work of the Devil is prevalent in the world we live in -We need to ask for God's help that we can live our lives in a way that shows we are awaiting the Kingdom of God and that if it is not God's will that the time for His Kingdom to be here on Earth yet - - that we can have His kingdom ruling our lives.
  3. Hallowed be Thy Name - We are acknowledging the holiness of God - that He is the one and only - the true God He is our Supreme Master - Creator of all things. We honor His name by using it in the proper text and bring dishonor to the name and ourselves when we use it as a comman exclamation or a curse. We hallow his name when we pray by expressing our appreciation of His greatness . His creations are things of beauty and wonder that no one can began to compare. His mercy is beyound our understanding - His name is indeed to be Hallowed!
  4. We have great peace and indescrible joy in our hearts because of our love for the Lord. We love Him thought we have not physically seen him and because of this the HolySpirit fills our hearts with joy. True Joy is reflected in our lives - its not a fanatical frenzy - but a peaceful, contentment knowing that through God's grace we will be with Him one day - our earthly trials will end and we will be physically and spiritually complete with God. Our day by day lives reflect the true joy - it is not a moment of an "emotional high"
  5. There are so many down times and struggles during a lifetime - that we realize the futility in thinking we are able to handle life on our own -Like Job we must contine to thank and praise God for what we do have even though we may be way down "on our luck" and it may seem we have nothing to be thankful for - there is. God is not to blame for our hard times. We need to thank Him for the strength he has given us to get through these times. We need to remember Job and how he never cursed or blamed God for all his troubles - the Devil could not get Job to blame and turn away from God
  6. God Predestined us - He chooses us. We must respond and accept His offer of Grace and Salvation
  7. I do find myself associating more with this life than with my heavenly life. It is way too easy to get caught up in the demands of living t his life. We are such a busy people anymore - with work - taking care of a home - children - friends - childrens activities - it seems like before you know it the day is gone and you drop into bed and are asleep before your head hits the pillow - and then it starts all over again. Rather futile isn't it? I need to make more time for study, prayer, congregating with others who are followers of the Lord - Like a saying I read somewhere 'We make the time to spend with what we love, and we then grow to love what we spend time being with" I think this applies to people as well as activities.
  8. The bitterness is the terrible wraths of God and what will befall mankind. It will be extremely hard to survive in those last days being a beleiver - many will suffer and die terrible deaths - but will have spiritual protection for thier souls. Non-beleivers will suffer the full wrath. It is sweetness to have the closeness to God, to have His word and know what our future holds, how to be on the winning side, and the greatest sweetness of all is God's Grace for Redemtion. Its hard for us to change - its much easier to go along in the same old rut doing the same things day after day - we think surely, nothing bad will happen - we think of God as a God of Love and Forgiveness and find it hard to believe that he will not save everyone whether they are deserving or not. But they have had chance after chance and then another chance. God is fair, God is just - we all know what we must do to receive God's grace and redemtion.
  9. The seal will protect God's people - spiritually. They will still face physical hardships and even death but thier spirits will be safe - they are not in danger of losing their protection from God for thier spiritual safebeing
  10. The Lamb is the only one worthy of opening the scrolls - the first rider out on the white horse is the antichrist - who will work hard to destroy any ones faith in God. Gods wrath is directed against the anitchrist and his followers - all those who do not believe and have not repented
  11. They are one and deserving of all our worship. They are complete in agreement. We have a loving father, a gentle shephers, a fair judge and when need be an angry executor
  12. As a reward to his faithful, some will be given the position of rulers over areas to help reign over the earth both during the millennium and in the new heavens and earth. We will be members of Gods kindgom.
  13. Jesus is worthy to open the scroll as he is sinless and unblemished - just like the sacrificial lambs. He was sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins
  14. Singing songs of praise, giving glory and thanks are all appropriate ways to worship the Lord. We are unworthy and its only through the grace and worthiness of Christ's sacrifice that we have the opportunity of seeing God
  15. I am horrible at titles - authors - artists. I did remember HOLY HOLY HOLY though
