  1. Q4. (1 Timothy 3) According to our text, do you see differences in qualifications between overseers/elders and deacons? What are they? The only difference I see between deacons and elders/overseers, is the deacons were called to serve more as a admistrator while having the ability to teach, man full of the Spirit and wisdom. On the other hand elders/oversees were called to serve as teachers, to present and protect that message that was intrusted to the church, they were supposed to be more mature in the faith, they must be people who have hold on firmly to the faith.
  2. Q3. (1 Timothy 3) Why are tendencies to anger, intimidation, force, and pride so important to consider in selecting church officers? What happens when you don't consider these factors? Because first these indicates that a person who shows theses characteristics is not a person lead by the Spirit of God, for the fruits of the Spirit are Self control, Love, Kindness and the list goes on. A church who select leaders or so called leaders without considering those tendencies are due to failure, even worse causing a bad reputation to name of Christ.
  3. I believe by saying that, Paul is pointing to a person, who believes and commits himself to God's decree. For God made man and woman for each other, and they shall be one. A person who leaves by that is true to God and to himself. Separated from the world believes and committed to God. By seeing one's family, you can tell a lot about the person. It shows his ability to lead. It shows how much he cares.
  4. The women by dressing like that, were drawing attention to themselves, instead of living a life that would honor God. They were behaving like the women outside the church, therefore compromising the teaching of the gospel, which is to leave a simple life, a life that should be all about God. I believe the only way to implement this in church, is by reminding the church what the church really is, the body of christ. We were once lost, but now we are blessed to know Christ and to be saved through His sacrifice on the cross, and that we're being transformed into his image, so let's stop making the gospel means to make as feel good, when we do that we are diminishing the work of Christ. People wake up its all about Him.
  5. Q3. (1 Timothy 2:8). What problem among the men of the congregation is Paul referring to in this verse? What is so serious about worshipping with the opposite of love in your heart? Anger and disputing. You can't worship with these in your heart, for Jesus said if you have anything against your brother in your heart, before offering something to God, first go and forgive your brother. Worship is a holy act, one that can only be performed with a pure heart. You can only worship God in Spirit and in truth, you're not being true to the Spirit if you have anger or anything of that nature.
  6. On the cross Jesus pay the price for sin, that which separates as from God. So we can only come to God through Jesus, the author of our salvation.
  7. 1. To show that salvation was available to everyone who would accept by faith despite their inheritance. The Ephesus had lost the focus and the desire God has for all men to be saved through Jesus Christ and the work He did on the cross, which served as ransom for all men.
  8. I believe Paul mentions about the prophecy once spoken to timothy, is to remind him of his call and encourage him. Fight the good fight means to present the gospel as for what it really is and stand against those who try to diminish and lead people astray as some man were doing. When Paul said to timothy to hold on to faith and a good conscience, he was telling him not to go away from the faith presented to him and the only way to do that is always to let the Holy Spirit search your heart, that
  9. There God is the only God. Worthy of praise, honor and glory forever and ever. I
  10. Paul states the meaning of the law, and that is good if one uses it properly, but he also demonstrates that the law is made for the unrighteous, by giving his life example, he shows that he lived under the law for he was a blasphemer, persecutor, and a violent man. And therefore shows timothy and the church, that was through Jesus
  11. Instead of doing God's work, certain men, like Paul describs were involved on endless genealogies completly leading people astray from the simple teachings of Jesus, who called us by faith to a new life of love and service. The result? meaningless talk that produces nothing. It takes away the work of Jesus on the cross, while faith in Christ unify the church, this kind of heresy has the opposite result.
