God is at the top. We aren't. But he still spends his thoughts on us. It's something I can't comprehend. When I have 3 hours of free time in any given day it's likely I'll spend it on sleeping, or playing. But God spends eternity on revealing Himself, talking to us, delighting in us... Since time has no meaning for him, he loves us indefinitely and for all. The Lord is Holy. Holiness not something that exists apart from God. It's something from God. All "abstract" goods such as love, peace, joy... holiness... these cannot be defined without invoking God, because He is the source of all these things. If I'd never seen this bible passage before, could I come up with God's name? Could I even conjure up a vague impression of what it is to be High, Lofty, Eternal, and Holy? This one name contains mysteries that man cannot solve in a lifetime. What is it to be eternal and holy? To be the most high and lofty? Can we understand?

I don't know if I can comprehend what "Most High" truly signifies! It's really scary because I have been using these same titles and names of God forever but can't grasp the complete meaning behind them...! So far though, "Most High God" means that God owes allegiance to no one but everyone must give their allegiance to God. He is the only being that has the final say on what goes on in our lives. He has control. In addition it makes me think that God can see more than anyone else; he is at the highest place. In fact, being "Most High" means he sees everything. Lastly I think Most High can mean God's the highest in terms of greatness, love, justice, righteousness.... and so on. But many of these terms are abstract and each of them requires contemplation... for example, what defines greatness? Therefore I will think upon these things and pray that the Spirit can guide my thoughts to the truth. JC

God is the creator of heaven and earth! Now what exactly is in heaven I want to know...! And I want to see the wonders of the earth as well, so I can begin to see the wonder of his works!

Hi I'm a college freshman who happened upon this bible study on google. I want to renew my fellowship with God, which has been challenging, at a secular college where I feel overwhelmed by the world.
