  1. Q3. (John 19:26-27) Why does Jesus make St. John responsible for his mother Mary? What does this tell us about Jesus? How should we apply this in our own lives? Jesus makes St. John responsible for his mother Mary because he knows that he can trust John to carry out his beliefs and take care of his mother because he also sees how he takes care of his own mother. Jesus cares about his mother and worries about her for when he is gone. we should act as if jesus set this upon us and carry out his ministry.
  2. Q1. (Luke 23:34) Who was most responsible for killing Jesus? What responsibility do you and I bear in this? In what sense was Jesus praying for us? personally, i would say that i am responsible for killing Jesus, but actually, all of us are. We are responsible because we are sinners and he died for us. Jesus was praying that god will be able to forgive us.
  3. Well, you can do sinful act with your body and most would jump right to sex. But you can sin with your eyes by coveting or *******. You probably dedicate your body to sin without thinking about it because they're bad habits and most habits you dont even notice. We just have to pray and instead of sinning, pray to god and praise him.
  4. It means that it's the result of something (Christ's Death). No, it's in the Bible and even though we dont have hard evidence other than the Bible, we just have to have faith. Well, it will effect our lives like it is now. We're believers and we're sold out for christ and we're changing for him.
  5. Our crucifixion with Christ makes our "body of sin" or "our flesh" powerless because now we aren't alone in this and christ helps us wvercome. We have been freed from sin when christ died to it. Now we are aware and now we know to depend on christ
  6. It's a historical death to sin because Christ actually did die and with him we died. Since we are united to christ and he died so that death is now considered our own. It's not theological mumbo-jumbo but some may not see it that way.
  7. When christ was buried and died, we are immersed in the water and it represents that we died to sin. Christ raising from the dead, we are brought out of the water (his resurection) and we are free from sin and death because death comes from sin due to adams orignal sin. We are free of inherited sin. I'm not saying that Baptism saves you, but I'm saying that is just represents His death and resurection.
  8. Our baptism shows our union with Christ because the immersion of water represents his death and our death to sin and the coming out of the water represents his resurection and our new life...oh, I just answered both of the questions.
  9. Adam was God's first created man and is our ancestor because of this. Christ is head of all who become his disciples because he gave us life. He has given us the ability to have eternal life and that gives him the right to be our head. His death for sins are effective for us by cleansing us of the inherited sin that we inherited from Adam.
  10. Yes there is sin without law. Even if you weren't technically aware of your trespassing, you should have known deep down that it wasnt right. Sin increases when the law is present because now we are without exuse.
  11. Q4. (Romans 5:9-11) What does "reconciliation" mean? Why is reconciliation with God necessary? We understand our having been saved by Jesus' death (5:10a, past tense). In what sense are we being saved (5:10b, present tense) by his life? What is Jesus doing for us in the present? Reconciliation means to change a hostile relationship to a friendly relationship. Reconciliation with God is necessary because that allows you to have a good relationship with him. By Jesus conquering death, it shows that he can save us from eternal death. Jesus is preparing a place for us and he is our mediator between us and God.
