  1. Jesus didn't pray to the Father to send the heavenly host in the Garden of Gethsemane, because He knew that He had to fulfill scripture, which was to go to calvary where he would bare the sins of the world, and drink the cup of God's wrath which was intended for us for we all have sinned and come short and God is Sovereign and Just and only our Lord and Savior who was perfect could redeem us from the wrath and destruction of the Father, because of our sinful state that He could not look upon. Thank you Jesus!!! When Jesus does call the heavenly hosts as we see in the book of Revelation on the Lord's Day, we know that the nations shall be destroyed and that the Word of God shall smite all those against the Father's will, for He comes Victorious to reign with the fierceness and wrath of the Almighty God which can not be quenched...
  2. God be Praised!!! Elisha's servant was afraid because he knew not the Lord that Elisha served. He wasn't aware of the presence of God at the time that he approached Elisha... he may not have been a child of God, the Lord says that His sheep know His voice... Elisha's servant relied on Elisha, and not God, his relationship with God appeared to have come through Elisha, as opposed to being personal with God himself... We as Christians will never be able to see the glory and the protection of God if we do not believe in the God we serve... we must know in our hearts, minds and souls that God will never leave us nor forsake us, and that He is a present help in our time of need... Yet it takes the power of the Holy Spirit to reveal God to us, He is the only one who can open our eyes to the truth... He was the one who at the request of Elisha through prayer, open the servants eyes that he may see... 1John 4:4 strengthens me in that though I may be weak, my God is strong, for His strength is made pefect in my weakness... I know that facing battles alone I am no match for the enemy, He would surely overtake me, however God is greater than all, He created the waster to destroy, and He said that is Greatness in me far outweighs that which is in the world, which comes against me... if God be for me there is none other that can be against me... I am a Child of the Most High God, Mighty in Battle!! Commander of the Heavenly Hosts.... Hallelujah!! And my Father will protect me, His child.
  3. The Lord was the Commander, and when God is the Commander and Chief all, He doesn't side with anyone, they side with Him, if they know what's right, and He certainly was not there to represent Himself as an enemy to Joshua... We know that if God be for us than who can be against us... It is important to note that our desire is to be on the side of God and not against Him... He certainly cannot be reduced to man's standards and be counted as part of our armies... He is God in all His glory... I'm sure Joshua was in awe, and humbled at the presence of the Lord... and He was certainly reassured for battle after this encounter... confident in the Lord that He would succeed in battle, just as we should be when we realize that we are on the side of the Lord and that that battle truly is not ours but the Lord's, for He shall fight our battles for us....Hallelujah!
