  1. Q1. (2 Peter 1:13-15) Why does our culture avoid talking about death? Well, maybe because we think that it is only for the older generation. Our young people feel that they have time to get things right with God after they get old, but right now they want to have fun in their way. So We don't talk about it for one thing is we are afraid to talk about it and another we don't want to face the fact that one day we all are going to meet it some day. Anything we don't want to face up to we tend to avoid. How is describing your earthly body as a "tent" freeing and motivating? The earthly body is just the house that the soul lives in and by describing it as a tent is to say this is where my soul lives but my soul is free and motivating because I know that it is a temporary house, my body. So I can be free and motivating in Christ, knowing that I have another home that is awaiting me in Heaven. What is the significance of Peter referring to his death as a "departure" or "exodus"? He means He is getting out of here. He means he is leaving this earthly shell and going to be with the Lord.
  2. Q4. (2 Peter 1:10) Why is Christian character an essential indicator of being saved or rescued by Christ? Christian character allows others to see Christ in our lives and it says to a dying World that there is hope and that hope is in God's Son Jesus Christ. What Biblical assurance of salvation can you offer the fruitless, barren "believer"? "For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (1:10-11)
  3. Q3. (2 Peter 1:7) Why do we imagine that "agape love" is easier than loving church members? Agape love is love regardless to whom it is given. I can't see it being easier than loving church members. Either you love with Agape love or you don't. It does not single out certain people; and if we single out church members then we are not walking in Agape love. God has no respect of persons. So if we are loving with God's love then we love everybody, even those who are unlovable, those who cause you to want to go the other way. But God reminds us of the fact that we are a product, a image of Him. If we avoid church because of our hurts at the hands of church members, can we mature fully in Christ? Why or why not? No we can not mature fully in Christ because sometimes God will allow church members to bring out of us what needs to come out. If we can't tend to horses in our own home, then how can we in the house of God, so my point is if we can deal with the hurts from family members then we should be able to let God have His way with us in the church with His members, or should I say His body because He is the aurthor and the finisher of our faith.
  4. Q2. (2 Peter 1:6) Why is a disciplined devotional life important to you? Well! for me is important because I love being in His presence, He gives me the comfort in knowing that He is with me in the good times as well as the bad times. I don't seek Him in meditations just when I am in trouble , but I love loving on Him because He is my Father and spending that time with Him helps me to see myself when I am around with other people, my love for other people. What happens when you forget or don't have time? My day is totally off track. I operate in myself when I don't spend time with Him. I have gotten where every time I get a second I tell Him Father I love You, or Thank You God! What Christian disciplines do you employ to help you open your spirit to God's Spirit? Reading of His Word, Meditating on Him daily and laying out on face to Him in my prayer closet which I really have a closet in the physical. I have a walk-in closet and I go in close the door and just lay out to God.
  5. Q1. (2 Peter 1:5-6) Which of these virtues so far has been the easiest for you to move into. Which has been the hardest for you? Why? All have being easy but maintaining self-control from outbursts of angry sometimes get in the way with me. I'm working to bring it under control and I have seen progress in that area. The first step of receiving healings in areas of our lives is to admit that we have a problem with somethings in our lives.
  6. Q3. (2 Peter 1:3) What does it mean for you personally to be called "by his own glory and goodness"? That while I was yet a sinner, living in my way, He still loves me and that nothing I do can cause Him to stop loving me. How does God's glory and awesome Presence affect you? It causes me to check myself daily and repent for things that I may have said or done, or maybe just omitted to do. His Glory causes me to take a close look at myself a whole lot. How does his goodness and moral excellence affect you? At times I feel that I'm not worthy of His goodness, but He always remind me of His Grace because there is nothing that I can do to earn it.
  7. God has given us every thing we need to make it in this world and world to come. Knowledge or knowing God is to have a relationship with Him. A relationship that says Father, I give up every thing; my life, my will, my way for You. We totally surrender ourselves to Him because we love Him just as He first loved us. GLORY!
  8. It means that the precious Faith that Peter had we too have because God gave all of us a measure of faith, but it is up to us how we use it and allow it to grow. There are several accounts in the Bible where Jesus talks about "Oh ye of little faith" and "what great faith ye have". So it is up to us to exercise our faith to its greatest potential.
