  1. Q3. (Ephesians 1:4) What does it mean to be "holy"? To be holy means that we are consegrated to God, pure and complete In what sense can you stand "blameless" before God? My sins have been forgiven through Jesus Christ and my slate has been wiped clean.
  2. Q2. (Ephesians 1:4-5) What is scary about predestination? Personally, I find nothing to be scared about with predestination. If someone is scared it would be due to a lack of understanding! What is comforting? Part of God's plan for me and a demonstration of the love He had for me before I was even born. Why does Paul bring up predestination? He want us to know that we were chosen in Him before creation to be holy and blameless. Why do you think he praising God for it in the "hearing" of the Ephesians? He is acknowledging that all blessings are from God and expressing his gratitude for those blessings.
  3. Q1. (Ephesians 1:3) What does it mean to you to be "in Christ" -- incorporated into Christ? To be in Christ means to me that He has given His life for me to live and as a result of me accepting that free gift, I have been sealed with His love. I now have the presence of the Holy Spirit on the inside of me working to perfect those things in me that the Father has planned. Christ set the standards for which I live and when I am obedient to following that path, I am in Him. What are the implications of this for your life? He said that if I abide in Him, He will abide in me. I cannot bear fruit on my own and without Christ, I am lost and can do nothing on my own.
  4. My name is Brenda and I am from Burlington NC. I am excited about this bible study. I have studied Ephesians before and over the past few months, I have felt the need to revisit the book. There are so many nuggets in the book that I felt compelled to do another study. I look forward to this journey into the Word of God! My husband and I have 4 children, 12 grandchildren. Our vision for this year is to know God's Word in a deeper and more personal way in order that we may grow closer to Him. Since my husband is retired he is able to take classes at a local college. Due to my work schedule I opted for this online study course.
