  1. Sadly most Jews are still awaiting the first coming of Jesus. They need to be prayed for.
  2. I studied the Life of Moses just before tackling this study on Hebrews. As I learned how God helped Moses to help the Hebrews build the tabernacle and set up cleansing, I realized how much god loved His Hebrew folks and all that he did for them. He kept it simple and he was pretty direct with them. There were plenty of foretelling of Jesus. When Jesus did come, he bore the sins for all of us and took them away. He became the replacement for all that "stuff" the Hebrews did originally at God's insistence. Pretty cool plan by God!
  3. By what way has the truth of salvation been confirmed to me? I just finished a study on the life of Moses. In it we covered much of Exodus through Deuteronomy. My take away was that God performed miracles and gave many signs to the Hebrews. He didn't stop there. He told them He did this, reminded them He did this and then reminded them some more. Often the Lord's words the accompany such reminder go something like this: "I did this so you might know I am the LORD your God." Deut 29:6b although it could have come from a number of passages. So my most recent take on being shown truth was through an in depth study of the life of Moses. In it God showed me just how big He really is in creating a nation yet He has the omnipresence to care about my salvation.
  4. I like to think God realized we could never understand the full implications of the trinity (God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit all in one but separate). I agree with the blogger who said "It is difficult to use human language to describe the relationship between Jesus and God the Father without using metaphor. To describe it as a "biological" relationship seems misleading, since biological relationships are between created beings. If the word is used to convey the idea that the very life of the Father is fully expressed in his Son, it may be helpful." So my takeaway is God is telling me to think like Jesus is his biological Son. That way I can better relate to the author of Hebrews and to Jesus and God. Pretty smart, that God is!
