  1. Though believers in Chri have died to sin, sin is still a problem. The sin principle is still present and can express itself through the mortal body, the body that is subject to death. The difference is that sin has no right to reign. Thus, Paul admonishes the believer not to obey it.
  2. Paul uses the common experience of believers being baptized as a picture of being identified with Jesus Christ. Baptism expresses faith the wa word expresses an idea. There can be an idea without words, but normally they are expressed in words. Water baptism is a symbol of the spiritual unionof Christ and the believer. When a person trusts Christ, he or she is inforporated into, united to Jesus Christ and Christian baptism makes these spritual realities vivid. Jesus death becomes our death. Havind ddied and having been raised with Christ the believer should live a new kind of life.
  3. When one is going through trying circumstances, they are so engrossed in the circumstances, they don't even think of praising Jesus for what He might do to help them. Praise is important to our faith. I attempt to praise Jesus in everything I do or say. Praise can't help but lift our trying attitude and should motivate us to go on with a Christ-like life.
  4. They want to flee from God, because they are afraid of what God might expect from them, if they submit and commit to Him. They imagine that God does not know what they do, because He is not visible as we as humans are.......not really, I don't remember feeling this way.
  5. Our prayers of praise "bless" God because when we do praise Him, He knows that things are OK, and He then knows we are striving to be like Him. We have Him in our lives and the ability to Praise Him. Prayers that don't include blessing God, are boring and not heart felt.
  6. It shows us the Glory of the Lord in Creation. It expresses wonder at the majestic and sublime nature of God. In view of the vastness of creation and the surpassing glory of God Man stands at the summit of God's creation. God created human beings as majestic creatures who were to rule over His creation. Jesus restores those who put their trust in Him. In Christ we recover magesty; in Him we become the people that God wants us to be. Whenever we feel worthless the words of this psalm should encourage us. We and all other human geings are valuable because God Himself created us in His own glorious image. O Lord our Lord:the first word is the divine name Yahweh. Thesecond Hebrew word translated our Lord speaks of the One in control: Our Sovereign.
