  2. Q3. When we are successful, to whom does the fruit of our labors belong? God In what sense are we independent entrepreneurs? We really aren't we are entrusted with talents and are to use our talents to glorify God and not ourselves. In what sense are we stewards of the gifts and

  5. Q4. (Luke 13:18-20) According to these parables in this lesson, in what ways is the Kingdom small? It is small in that it is only one way to enter in. Repent, believe in the Lord Jesus with all your heart, accept Him and confess with the mouth and thou shall be saved. This is hard for some people to do, because they put so much ahead of Christ. I was also included with that group at one time, but thank God for His grace and mercy. In what ways does the Kingdom grow? one heart sharing with another the beautiful news of the Kingdom. In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? It is narrow in that it is only one way to enter in and that is receiving the Lord Jesus as one's personal savior, repent and turn away from the old life style and live the new life according to the Kingdom rules. We can not do it our way, but do it God's way. It is only one way. In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? Because people will come from all over which makes it large and diverse. There will be people of all color in heaven. Only those who obeyed and heeded to the call and were obedient can enter in.
  6. Q2. (Luke 13:24-27) Why do you think Jesus characterizes the entrance to the Kingdom here as
  7. Q1. (Luke 13:19-21) What is the point of the Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Leaven? The point is that something small can end up as something great. How would this be encouraging to Jesus
  8. Q3. (Matthew 18:34-35) Why does Jesus frighten us with his statement:
  9. Q2. (Matthew 18:23-35) In the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant, what is the purpose of contrasting the huge debt with the small one? To show that God forgives many sins and we should be able to forgive also to those who have sinned agains us. If we were to put ourselves in the parable, which debt would we owe? Which debt might be owed us? Why was the king insulted by the unmerciful servant
  10. Q1. (Matthew 18:21-22) Jesus says we must forgive 77 times or 490 times. Should we take these numbers literally or figuratively? If figurative, what are they figurative of? We should take this figuratively. This means to forgive without numbering the times that we have forgiven a person. We are to forgive just as Christ forgives us. What does this teach us about God
  11. Q4. (John 3:16) Why is this verse so famous? Because this verse lets us know just how much God loves us. He gave His only Son for our lives. What does it teach us about God? God was willing to sacrifice His Son's life for ours. What does it teach us about salvation? All we have to do is belive and we will not perish. Since
  12. Q1. (John 3:3, 5) What does Jesus teach here about the nature of the Kingdom of God? Do you think Nicodemus understands him? Why or why not? He teaches that the kingdom is spiritually discerned and one must be born of water and of the Spirit to enter in. No, Nicodemus did not understand Him, because he was trying to understand it in the natural.
  13. Q4. What does Jesus teach us about the value and worth of the Kingdom? Why are we tempted to value it so little? What helps us to appreciate its true value? How might your testimony help a seeking friend to value the Kingdom more? It is something that we should be willing to leave all and follow Him. It is like a treasure that we hid, or a pearl of a great price. We value it so little when we have shallow relationships with Christ. Our whole heart is not after Him. We appreciate it's full value the more that we get to know Him. The friend would know that if Christ has changed me and given me so much wisdom, He can do the same thing for my friend.
  14. Q3. (Mark 10:22) Why is poverty and self-sacrifice an inadequate religion? Why does Jesus ask the man to follow him? In what senses was this a great privilege that the man was offered? Why did he reject the offer? Poverty and self sacrifice is an inadequate religion because we are not really giving up anything to follow Christ. Christ wants a genuine relationship with us. He wants our hearts, our total being. He wants those who serve Him in spirit and in truth. Sacrifice of the flesh will not do. Christ asked the man to follow Him because He could see the potential in the young man. He could see that he could give the young man a first hand experience with Him and the young man could learn from the True and Living God. He rejected the offer because he had many riches.
  15. Q2. (Mark 10:21) Why do you think Jesus requires the rich young ruler to divest himself of his fortune? Why does this trouble us so much? If there was no other way for the man to be saved, what does that say about the spiritual dangers of wealth? Because he valued his fortune above all things. Because we may have something, of had something at one time that came between us and Christ. The time is now to make the decision to totally follow Him. If we love money above all things, we can lose our salvation and not obtain eternal life.
  16. Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? Both of the Parables stress the value of the Kingdom of God. We should be willing to leave all to follow Christ. It is just that wonderful. He tells us to Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and all these things will be added unto you. We will get wealth, riches and whatever we need, but we have to be willing to seek Christ first. The main point is to look to Jesus and follow His example. Don't let anything come between our relationship with Him. He knows the only right way. He knows everything.
  17. Q4. (Luke 17:33-36) What does our passage teach about the separation and judgment that will occur when the Kingdom comes? How should this affect our lives? Our testimony? Our love for our neighbors? One will be saved and one will be lost although they will be together. This is a time of separation. We need to live Holy lives. Live as if Jesus is physically walking with us everyday. Let our lives be a testimony that we are living for Him. We have to be willing to lose our lives for Him, because this present world is not our home. We need to live so that someone else will want the life that we have. We need to whitness to our neighbor so that they will not be lost.
  18. Q3. (Luke 17:24-32) What indications does Jesus give in this passage that he will suddenly come in his Kingdom without further warning? What are the implications of this for our attitude? For our lives? Just like the people of Noah's day and the people of Sodom and Gomorah, we have had ample warning. Therefore, Christ will not warn us anymore. He will come suddenly and illuminate the sky from left to right and we will all see Him. We should have an attitude of readiness, by living holy and obedient lives.
  19. Q1. (Luke 17:21) In what sense was the Kingdom of God present in the Person and ministry of Jesus? In what sense is the Kingdom of God present today? It was present in Jesus in that He taught people how to live the life that God had for them. The Kingdom within is a changing of our thoughts. The more that we receive God's Word, the more we know how to live in the Kingdom. It is present in that we can live in it right now if we are willing and obedient.
