  1. Q3. (1 Timothy 2:8). What problem among the men of the congregation is Paul referring to in this verse? What is so serious about worshiping with the opposite of love in your heart? The problem with the men in the congregation were going through the motions but they had anger and disputing issues within the church. Worshiping without a pure heart leads to impurity in the church. But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith(1 Timothy 1:5). If you worship God with hate in your heart, God will not listen to you when you are in prayer with Him. If you have something against your brother, you should go to him and reconciled your differences with him before going to the altar.
  2. Q1. (1 Timothy 2:1-4) Why does Paul emphasize salvation of all mankind in this letter? What does this suggest about the practice of evangelism in the Ephesus church? There were false teachers with Jewish myths and genealogies that cause them to lose their focus on Salvation for the Gentiles. Jesus Christ died for all(John 3:16). They were not teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone in the church. They were teaching Jewish myths and genealogies and Gnosticism.
  3. Q4. (1 Timothy 1:18-19) Why does Paul need to remind Timothy about the prophecies spoken over him? In practical terms, what does "fight the good fight" really mean? Why does Paul tell Timothy to "hold on to faith and a good conscience"? What temptation is Paul trying to counter in his prot
  4. Q3. (1 Timothy 1:17) What do we learn about God from this doxology? What do we learn about praise? Have you ever tried speaking out a doxology in your personal prayer or praise time? What effect does a doxology have on the speaker? We learn the attributes of God such as He is Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, and the only God. Praise should be done everyday, all day long, and everywhere. God deserves more praise than we could ever give Him. God is so worthy of all our praises because He loves us so much that He gave His one and only Son to die on the cross and then be resurrected on the third day to conquer death so we by faith believe and can receive eternal life through Salvation and Baptism. How can we ever praise our Lord and Savior enough for loving us so much? God is always faithful. Yes I praise God when I begin my personal prayer to Him. Praises brings blessings from God.
  5. Q2. (1 Timothy 1:12-14) Why does Paul comment on his own life after a paragraph on the law (1:8-11)? Why does he share this with Timothy and the church that will read the letter? How might sharing this help get the church back on center? 1.Paul's was illustrating how he use to be as a blasphemer and a persecutor of Christians and how God poured out His grace and unlimited patience with Paul. Paul shares this with Timothy and the church to showed them that God's grace would be sufficient for them also. This will help the church, because they could be forgiven by God's grace, and receive eternal life.
  6. Some of the results of false doctrine in the church of Ephesus were their leadership was false and they had desires for wealth. They had lost their faith and so by listening to false doctrine their was confusion and controversy leading to no peace in the church Satan was working inside the church that was leading to destruction. Controversy hurts the Spirit of the church by disrupting the teaching of the "Good News". The Holy Spirit can not help teach and counsel Christians while their is confusion and controversy in the church. The church cannot grow if everyone is not in accord with each other about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is bitterness and dispute going on in the church. The Church cannot grow if their is distracted by false doctrine and so they cannot mature as growing Christians should.
