  1. Sometimes when we tell people what they better do or what they will do they tend to react in a negative way. it is always better to appealed to people like you would want someone to appeal to you. The bible says with love and kindness have I drawn you. I believe it is out of respect for Philemon being one in authority and as a brother in the lord. I believe the bottom line is in order for us to be forgiven we must forgive.
  2. Depending on the reason Onesimus left in the first place, He needed to go back to set things right with his master at any cost. Paul wanted to keep Onesimus with him but he knew that even though Onesimus became a christian he still belonged to his master. That would not be a good example to the other brothers that were with Paul. Onesimus had to make peace with his master, his master could free him to evangelize, or his master could have him killed.
  3. Paul give instruction that our conversation should be full of grace and seasoned with salt. We should speak clearly so that we are understood. I believe we sometimes allow opportunity to slip by because of fear,or lack of understanding of what to say. We ourselves need to be in constant relation with God if we are going to be witnesses for Him. He already knows what we should say should the opportunity arise. Seek God. When we say that we are christians we represent Christ and people tend to watch us very close if we do good or bad Christ is the one who they will judge all over again. Just like when children act up people will say stuff like I can't believe the parents allow the children to behave like that. When we can only be accountable for ourselves.
  4. Paul encourages us to be persistence, alert and thankful. If I did these things on a regular basis I believe I would have a stronger relationship with God. I believe that the spirit of discernment will be at work the more in me, so that I would know how to pray for those even the more that I pray for. I believe my intercessory prayer life would deeply increase. (which is what I want pray for me). I believe that I would be so to speak and quick to listen. I would do a lot less complaining and begin more to trust God for who He is.
  5. Paul prays that God would give an open door of opportunity for him to preach Gods message even while he is in chains. That God will allow people to cross your path that you can witness to. Paul needed pray because we can only do so much on our own but until the holy spirit steps in and guides us and leads us even when we think we got it or we know what we are doing, we don't.
  6. paul encourages us to be persistence, alert and to be thankful. I believe i would have a closer relationship with God. I believe that I would hear from God more.I feel that the problem it would correct would be that I would do less complaining and worry about things because I would be more in communication with God.
  7. God wants employers to know that they are to treat people, not the way that they were treated, but the way that they wanted to be treated when they were employees.God wants employers to know that how they treat their employees is how they will be treated, and how their business will prosper. Employers should treat their employees with respect because employees are people and one day that employer will have a child working, how would they want that child to be treated.
  8. As an employee we must be honest and of good integrity. We must do all things as unto the Lord. Meaning that we should arrive on time for work, and not steal time. we should not talk to other employees in a negative way about the employer no matter how we feel about them. With a poor boss I stayed prayed up and not try to complain or get caught up in gossip with other employees. Dont do things wrong because other employees are doing them because you have a poor boss. God has blessed us with a job and all that we have poor boss or not we are to be thankful to God and give thanks in everything. We would make a difference in the work place. People are always watching people who say they are christians and we have to be very careful what we do especially when we are pressed. When we are pressed are true character is revealed.
  9. I think that Paul was looking for accountability in a marriage. There had to be order establish. there had to be an consequence for wrong behavior. I think that is because the way woman have been brought up to be very independent. Even as young girls. woman were put in roles where they had to take care of the house and maybe even younger brothers and sisters it may seem like we have to put all that aside and as if we have no identity and submit to a husband that sometimes treat us as second class citizens.I dont even think that men think that they are being unselfish. They just think and are usually raised to believe that they are the king of the castle and its their way or you are not submitting to their headship. lack of understanding that husbands should love their wives.
  10. Paul warns that masters and employers should be careful how they treat their employees because the same way that they treat their employees is how God will treat them. You will reap what you sow. God is the master and he will pay us according to our works. Employers business i believe will thrive even the more if employees were treated with respect, and not just as a commodity. I know first hand to work in a place where favoritism is high. I get very discouraged. But i know that God sits high and looks low and He knows my situation concerning my job. please pray for me concerning this.
  11. Perfect in Christ means the way God sees us before the fall of man.Not sure about the answers to the questions.
  12. I believe that since we are with Christ in God once we have taken on the new life that now we have access to the things of Christ< Such as knowledge and wisdom all we have to do is ask for these treasures that we might receive.
  13. That the young church will not fall for old traditions and or philosophies or. That they don't get discouraged and lose their faith. That the fruit of the spirit will abound gracefully in the lives. The greatest of these is love. I believe that each fruit over shadows the other they are all equally important. We tend to lead an unbalance life.
  14. Our virtues that we display show who Christ is. We are made in His image and His likeness. Virtues are important to the church because it brings strong relationship among the saints. believe that in these days that non christians are looking for hope in all the wrong places so it is important that we as christians put on the fruit of the spirit and walk there in so that we can be a light and lead someone to salvation with our virtues.
  15. We allow our emotions to speak for us and not our mind(the one that we should have in Christ). Words that are spoken out cannot be taken back you can really hurt someone with your words. People have been church hurt because of words. We can try to think before we speak. And if we say something hurtful or out of anger we should repent to that person and to God.
