  1. Q1. (2:1-4). To achieve unity in your congregation, why is humility necessary? 2. What do Philippians 1:23 and 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 teach about the state of Christians immediately after death? Answer: It teaches us that we as Christian after God took back our borrowed life...in a wink of an eye we will see Him face to face and will be with Him. How does this comfort you? 3. Q3. (1:20-21) How can fear keep us from being a bold witness? Answer: Fear keep us from being a bold witness when we are afraid to talk about God and eternal salvation to other people. Our fear holds us and stops us in proclaiming the good news. Why does fear of people bind our tongues? Answer: Fear of people bind our tongues because we feel that we do not have enough knowledge and wisdom about our God, that we do not know where & how to start the conversation. How does "losing our life" for Christ's sake actually give us an abundant life? Answer: It gives us abundant life because once we die or give our life to our Dear Lord in return we will be with Him in heaven where there will be no more problems, no more tears, pains, agony and death. What fear is keeping you from clear witness? Answer: Fear of rejection and not knowing how to answer all the questions that might be thrown on me.
  4. Q2. (1:18b-19) Why is our ability to rejoice so dependent upon our faith that God is in control, working even in the midst of difficulty? Answer: Because thru our faith in God we know that whatever trials or problems we might face God is in total control and that we should not worry because He promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. What must you believe in order to be able to rejoice in the midst of problems? We must believed that God is in control and that "All things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are called according to His purpose". What is your basis for believing that? Romans 8:28
  5. Q1. (1:12-14) From the standpoint of witness to others, you are much more credible when you are undergoing personal struggles, stress, and problems. Why is this so? Why was Paul's witness so powerful? What personal struggle are you going through that could enhance your testimony if you handled it right? Answer: We are more credible as a witness when we are undergoing personal struggles, stress and problems because people saw in us how we handle and carry our problem thru out faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. That inspite of being tormented with so much storms and tornados in our life we can still smile and live the life with happiness & joy in our heart thru Jesus Christ. Why was Paul's witness so powerful? Answer: Paul's testimony was so powerful because his life was fully surrender to God and that all his hope depends on God alone and that he believes God is working in His life and using it for His glory and honor. What personal struggle are you going through that could enhance your testimony if you handled it right? Answer: I would say my **** of the flesh.

How is the good the enemy of the best in our lives? Answer: Paul ask God to give the Philippian Christians discernment so that they will know what is best and maybe pure and blameless until the day of Christ. On what basis can we expect God to do this for us? Answer: Paul expect God to finish the work that he started in the Philippian believers. God chose them to become His sons and daugters and though they are not perfect, God will mold them, teach them, instruct and love them until Gods perfect time and eventually the eternal salvation God promised them. Answer: Because Paul understand and believed that whatever God started, He will also complete it. Answer: Paul basis of confidence is Gods faithfulness to His promises. Answer: Praise be to God because He is a faithfull God, and that faithfulness is my basis that God will also do this for us that no matter what, He will always keep His promised to those who believe Him.
  8. When we become financial partners of God's ministry in return we also received financial and most importantly spiritual blessing. We can also give non-monetary support to the ministry like personnel, materials needed to carry-on God's work and more importantly our prayers.
  9. The basic idea of slave is that a person's life was bought by a price by his master and because of that he is obligated to serve him at all cost and any cost. The root idea of a saint is that like us as Christian, we are chosen by God and was meant for his purpose, we are specially separated and sanctified for a holy purpose and not for worldly things. It is saying the same thing about Christian relationship to God because like a slave and a saint, we are bought by God by a price and in that way we no longer owned our self but by God and we are to reserve this body for the service of the Lord for His glory and honor.
  10. Q2. (1 Corinthians 3:4-9) In what ways do denominations encourage Christian unity? By building a group of churches where they also meet and fellowship once in a week and by proclaiming that salvation is thru Jesus alone. In what ways do they foster disunity? I see disunity foster when even christian inside the church are full of pride and they don't know the meaning of the word humility. Does belonging a “non-denominational” church make any difference regarding unity throughout the body? I don't think so. How can we tear down the barriers that divide us? We must always remember that as a believer chosen by God, we only have one spirit, one God, one faith & one salvation.
  11. Q1. (1 Corinthians 3:1-3) In behavioral terms according to these verses, how would you classify yourself in terms of hunger for the Word? Somehow I still look like a Corinthian who act like a five year old baby. When it comes to my hunger for the word I think I'd rather pray hard and ask the Holy spirit to make me experience this hungryness. In terms of jealousy and quarreling? – infant, child, teenager, adult? In jealousy still a bit but praise God when it comes to quarreling I ran away from it. What will it take for you to grow to the next stage? Need more time with the Lord, devotion and quiet moment, RADICAL OBEDIENCE.
  12. Q5. (1 Corinthians 2:9-16). Explain how we can “have the mind of Christ.” How does this work, according to these verses? We have the mind of Christ because we accepted the Holy Spirit who is also in Christ. This work when the Holy Spirit whom we received when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior dwells and filled us. The spirit searches and knows our heart, nobody knows what is in our hearts and mind only the Holy spirit same as with the Lord, nobody knows what is Gods plan except His Holy spirit. How does having the Holy Spirit “circulating” through our minds explain spiritual gifts working through us? The bible said, spiritual things can be understand by people who was filled with the spirit. This explains that we as Christian are led with the spirit to make use of the gifts that was given to us. 13. Q4. (1 Corinthians 2:1-6) Why didn’t Paul conform to the rhetorical standards of his day in order to communicate more clearly? As Paul said, he does not want their salvation to rest on man's wisdom but of Gods power which is a genuine salvation. What is the danger of “repackaging” the message? Repackaging the message will somehow twist and change the real message of God and it will only mean that you rely in yourself. What does it mean that Paul relied on a demonstration of the Spirit’s power? It simply means that Paul did not do it by himself, that it is Gods supernatural power that do everything for him.
  14. Q3. (1 Corinthians 1:30-31) In what way does Christ represent God’s wisdom, righteousness, holiness, and redemption? I believed it is when our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.
  15. Q2. (1 Corinthians 1:21-25) In what areas do non-Christians in our culture stumble over the basic gospel of Christ? I think it is the teaching of religion where they belong like repent your sin to the leader of the church and presto you are already forgiven. Another is to do good things to other which will earn you credit on your way to heaven. To what degree can we help bridge this gap through careful and creative presentation? Let the Holy spirit lead you from the very beginning and entrust to Him the salvation of that person. To what degree might that be “watering down” the gospel? When you used your own sweet words just to convince that person. Why can’t we escape the tension between culturally-relevant communication and changing the essence of the message? Tell what was exactly written in the bible...straightforward.
  16. Q1. Name four value differences between Christian teaching and the values you see pushed to us on television. Example: Sex between consenting adults is okay, vs. sex belongs in marriage. Now name four more. 1. Same sex marriage vs marriage of the opposite sex. 2. Legalizing the use of guns vs anti-gun ban law. 3. Patronizing imported products vs home grown or local products. 4. The idea of legal separation or divorce vs the preservation of family.
  17. Q4. (1 Corinthians 1:10-12)What kind of divisions do you see in your congregation or in the Christian community in your area? Division where there is no unity in every brethren, misunderstanding, and this I think is because of the reason that they lack spiritual maturity. What is the cause of the divisions in Corinth? The division in the church of Corinth is because people tend to look at the people whom God appointed to lead them. Some of them maybe convinced by their leadership style, by the way they look or might be of favoritism. What is the case of divisions today? I think the case of division today is about pride in the heart of every christian. How do we obey the command to “agree with one another” (1:10)? The best thing to do to obey that command is to love one another and to be humble.
  18. Q3. (1 Corinthians 1:8-9) What gifts does God give us to ensure that we’ll continue in faith until the end? Strength, Forgiveness, Faithfulness, & Fellowship. Why does each require our active participation to receive its full benefits? Because it is us, our body who God owns and not other people. Without our active participation we will not be able to practice and experience its benefits. Which do you need to enter into more? All of the above.
  19. Q2. (1 Corinthians 1:4-7) How often do you thank God for the blessings of those who don't like you, or of your actual enemies? I cant remember an instance where I thank God for the blessing He gave to those who do not like me or my enemies. I just know that it is Gods will and so be it. What does it say about Paul that he thanks God for the gifts of those who are at odds with him? It only shows that Paul has already achieved the highest level of Christian maturity as his character shows it while facing those who antagonize him. What specifically does he thank God for about the Corinthian believers? Paul specifically thank God for the totally free and unmerited favor that God has extended to those once-pagan people.
  20. Q1. (1 Corinthians 1:2) “What does “called to be holy” or “called to be saints” mean? Called to be holy means set aside something or make it suitable for ritual purposes, consecrate, dedicate. When used of people, it indicates those who have been removed from the realm of the common, and who are now set aside for God himself. The noun hagios is used in the same clause referring to the people who have been thus set apart and consecrated to God: "believers, loyal followers, saints. What is a saint according to the Bible? A saint according to the bible is someone whom God set-apart to belong to Him. We are not saint because of our own personal perfection, "Saint" isn't a reflection on your state of perfection, but your state of ownership which means "we are owned by God alone". Why is it so comfortable for us to say, "I'm no saint"? Because we sin and most of the time a repeated sin, we commit mistake, we mess-up our lives and we thought that we do not deserve to be called saint. Also, sometimes we forgot that it is God who chose us and not us whose Him. What is expected of a person who has been set apart as the personal property of the living God? It is expected of us to be Godlike, in thoughts, in words, and in deeds. What kind of behavior does the world expect of those who claim to be followers of Christ? They expect us to be like God who is loving, slow to anger, forgiving, faithful etc.
  21. What was the gist of Isaiah’s prophetic instruction to Ahaz? It is simply to have faith in God, listen to His instruction and follow it. Why do you think Ahaz chose to disregard it? Lack of faith in God. What did Ahaz do instead? Instead of trusting God, he trusted men. What was the consequence of this disobedience? His displeased God with his action. Why do we sometimes seem to think that we’re smarter than God? First is our little faith, second we might be thinking that God is an understanding God and He will consider our action and decision. Why is it sometimes so hard to do what God tells us to do? Because we do not want to come out from our COMFORT ZONE.
  22. How do you make sense out of these verses? God created man with his freedom and freewill. He can make choices in his life either it will make or break him, either physically or spiritually. The same thing in Isaiah and our time now, we can do whatever we want to do, we can choose God or evil to rule us in our life. God will not force us to worship and serve Him in our life. Is Isaiah called to an impossible mission? In a man's view, at first it seems impossible specially if we do not have the big faith for the big mission. Yet, in Gods sight nothing is impossible specially if it is His plan for His glory and honor. I don't think God called prophet for an impossible mission, God will not call us for nothing or just to waste our time, He always has purpose if we can not see the result of His work today....wait in the future. Why will Isaiah’s prophecy make the task worse? Because it will appear that Isaiah or God is threatening them, that if they will not listen and repent they will be doomed for destruction. In which parable did Jesus quote this passage (Matthew 13:1-23)? The parable of the sower and the seed. In Jesus’ parable, is there any frustration in preaching the gospel? No, there is no frustration in preaching the Gospel. GOD NEVER FAILS. His work always has a purpose, in preaching the gospel not everybody who hears and listen will accept and be saved yet the sure thing is that they have heard the word and it is up to them to contemplate on it. Is there any hope? YES. there is always big hope when it comes to God even if we are the worst sinner.
  23. What is Isaiah's reaction to the vision? Isaiah felt that he was not worthy of his vision, he felt like being humiliated because of his inequities and transgressions to God. How does God deal with Isaiah's fear? God sent one of His seraph to Isaiah and using a live coal and by touching the lip of Isaiah, he cleanse him of his unrighteousness. What question follows Isaiah's cleansing? Whom shall I send? What is Isaiah's response to God's question? Here I am Lord, send me. What is your response when you sense God calling you? Like Isaiah, I will also feel awkward, feeling not worthy of Gods calling because of my wickedness and unrighteousness, maybe hesitant and will ask God to wait for sometime or consider another who is far worthy than me.
  24. Why do you think Yahweh revealed himself in this way to Isaiah? So as to confirm and strengthen more Isaiah belief in His creator. To give him knowledge and idea how a mighty God can reveal himself to Godly people like himself. In what ways does this vision reveal God’s majesty? By showing to prophet Isaiah that He is the omni-potent, omni-present and omniscient God. What do we learn about Yahweh from the serphaim’s chant? That Gods glory is anywhere and everywhere in this universe.
  25. What was the vintner’s vision for the vineyard? The vintners vision for the vineyard is that it will yield an abundant harvest of good grapes. What did he do to accomplish his vision? The vintners cleared the land, dug it up & removed the stones. He made the soil ready and even planted it with the choicest vines. He also built a watch tower in it to safeguard the vineyard from any intrusion from the outside and lastly cut out a wine press as well. What happened when the crop came in? To the vintners surprised, the vineyard produces a different harvest which is totally contradicting to what he was expecting yet he has done all the necessary preparation so as to yield a good crop. What did the vintner say he would do with the vineyard? He will take away its hedge and it will be destroyed, he will break down its wall and it will be trampled, meaning it will be vulnerable from outside intrusion, he will make it a wasteland neither prunes or cultivated and briers and thorns will grow there and he will command the cloud not to rain on it. What does this parable mean? The parable means that people like us, if we disobey Gods plan and will, he will let us destroy by any means because of our disobedience.
