  1. i think that what JC means when he says "father into your hands i commit my spirit" is i give it all to you...im surrendering it to you (my life). We can use this as an example in our own life as we too are called to lay down our lives for GOd. These last words can comfort us to know that Jesus was all human as well as spiritual.
  2. 1)jesus had finished bearing the burden of sin. he knew in those last words that he would die but that he had victory as he knew that was not the end but in fact the beginning of restoration with man. 2)ask for forgiveness and leave it there....go and sin no more. dont let jesus' death be for no reason. reconcile and turn quote name='Pastor Ralph' date='24 March 2009 - 03:29 AM' timestamp='1237822150' post='43622'] Q6. (John 19:30) What had Jesus
  3. jesus was in every way human as well as spiritual. hunger our bodies can handle more but lack of water makes it hard to breathe and does not allow our muscles to work properly or internal organs to function properly as we are made up of 60% water. Jesus thirsted just as any of us would have in the same circumstance. this shows that he was totally human and it also tells us that being put on a cross takes its toll physically.
  4. loving the messages. thanks!

  5. I am a stay at home mother of four children and adore my kids and husband. I love Jesus and have followed him for about 16 years now. am enjoying getting into more deeper biblical studies!

  6. 1)jesus had faith that he would be reconciled to God just as we too can be reconciled if we only believe that what Jesus did was true and ask for his forgiveness for all the wrong things that we have done. 2)Even though it was tormenting for Jesus to be on the cross he did it. he saw the end result and knew that for mamkind it was the only option to get out of the sin mess we had made for ourselves...we too should be committed, even when it seems tough. 3)Jesus' love was unconditional even on a cross. he knew that he was dying for something that he didnt do as he had not sinned but he still did it because he loved us and continues to do so. 4)we should be self sacrificing thinking of others before ourselves and be willing to die for them as Jesus did for us. not so concerned about "I" but concerned about "us"
  7. 1) he loved his mother and wanted him to take car of her as he knew her heart was broken to see her son go through such torment and pain. 2) It tells us that Jesus is unselfish as here he is dying and in agony but his heart reaches out to his mum...his concern was for her more than his own. he had every reason humanly imagined to complain and rant and rave but he chose not too. even on a cross he was humble and compassionate and not only towards his mother but a criminal and all others who had wronged him..."father forgive them..." 3)we should be like Jesus and show compassion in the midst of our own problems. look further than ourelves and our own self-pity and reach out to others.
  8. 1) because he cant see the end result (ie heaven) he just simply believes that it is offered to him if he asks jesus to forgive him....which all of us can do 2)the thief received the promise of life after death with jesus in heaven 3)Jesus would have been elated by knowing that this criminal would join him in heaven after all he does not want anyone to perish...him and the angels would have been throwing a big party to celebrate
  9. i think that the person most responsible for killing Jesus was Pilate (of course they all had a part to play) but he was the one who when the rubber met the road had the decision to make re Jesus' cuxifixion and decided to be popular and go with the crowd. Our responsibility is to accept that God allowed Jesus to did so that we could be brought back to relationship with him through asking him to forgive us for all the sins we have done. Jesus knew the future he knew 2000 years ago that people would continue to sin and turn away from him so he was not only praying for the people of the present but also those of the future.
