  1. Holiness of God made him keenly aware of his own sinfulness and afraid of judgment of God. No one has seen a holy God and still remained alive. There is a definite chasm between a holy God and unclean man. God let seraph bring a live coal to Isaiah and touched his lips and made him clean. The live coal from the altar symbolizes God
  2. Rock of salvation (v.1), the great God (v.3), the great king (v.3), Creator and Ruler of of the earth (v. 4&5), Maker of mankind (v.6) and Shepherd (v.7). The Psalmist calls on us to bow down and worship, and kneel before Him (v. 6). God is the Creator and Care Taker of us; He is intimately involved in our lives and closely watches over us. Why not bow down and worship Him in adoration and gratitude?
  3. He has not abandoned us, even though we are deep in sin and struggle with so many hardships and trials. God will come and exert judgment. This gives me both trust and fear. Trust in the Lord of all times (Prov. 3:5) and fear as God judges those who are not faithful to Him. God lives beyond a timeframe. He lies in eternal present and He can do things beyond the constraints of time.
  4. Living God exists by Himself. He is full of life and power. Unlike other gods He needs no help from others. He is the giver of life and wisdom. Goliath
  5. What a relief! No more worries about transient things
  6. Q1. (Exodus 3:1-15) What does God's name Yahweh reveal about his person and his power? How would an understanding of Yahweh's name contrast him with the idols worshipped by the Egyptians? I AM WHO I AM
  7. Since God will fight for us, we are required to trust and obey Him. Trusting means that even when things seem to go from bad to worse, we need to see the situation with faith, which enables us to find ways God is at work. We also need to act upon God
  8. Q2. (2 Kings 6:13-17) Why was Elisha's servant afraid? What was the difference between Elisha and his servant? It was because Elisha
  9. He wanted Joshua to understand that first and foremost, the battle belonged to the Lord. The Israelites were to rely completely on God and obey what the Commander-in-Chief tells them. The significance is that their responsibility is to obey God, and if they do, God will take care of the rest. They need to commit the outcome of the battle to God. I think this encounter lifted burden off Joshua's shoulders and he felt assured of God
  10. God is victorious. He is strong and mighty; He is mighty in battle (Ps 24:8). His plans will never be thwarted. They have been prevailed throughout history and will continue to prevail. This victorious God is the source of all glory. When we seek His glory, we will reflect His glory and bring glory to God. Psalm 24:9 reminds me of something
  11. There is a fundamental difference between God
  12. God created heaven ane earth by His word. He spoke and whole creation came to be. He took initiative. We are to respond to Him. Why then in worship and prayer, should I speak more than letting Him speak? As part of worship, I will make conscious effort to be more attentive to Him throughout the day. I will focus on Him, not only when some uncontrolling situation arises, but also on ordinary day and with ordinary activities, for He may speak through ordinary things on any given day.
  13. Both acknowledge that God Most High created heaven and earth; He is worthy to be praised and there is none higher than God.
  14. Hi, my name is Changed 4 His glory and I live in Japan. God gave me a thought to study God through His names and within a week He graciously led me to this bible study. I am very excited about this opportunity. I look forward to growing in faith, especially dealing with challenges of life, as I learn more about who God is.
