  1. 2. a. Elisha's servant was afraid because he saw in the natural. He saw a city surrounded with an army, and horses and chariots, with no way out. b. Elisha saw in the spiritual, he was not afraid, he had faith and believed God to deliver. c. An opportunity to trust God, faith in God and believe and declare His Word. d. Knowing that I belong to God. Christ is in me and greater is He that is in me that he that is in the world.
  2. 5. a. It says that Joseph was righteous, that he loved both God and Mary, and was obedient to the call of God. b. Joseph was commanded to name the child Jesus. Joseph became the legal father of Jesus, therefore Joseph's ancestry as a descent of David transfers also to his legal son. Gabriel promised Mary, "The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David". In Joseph naming the boy, and therefore adopting him, David becomes Jesus earthly ancestor.
  3. 4. The prophesy in Isaiah 7:14 was fulfilled (when the fullness of time had come)God sent forth His Son Jesus, made of a woman, a virgin Named Mary. His name was called "Immanuel, God with us" The God-man who came to save his people from their sins.

  5. 1. a. Because He wanted Joshua to know he was in charge, He is the commander. Joshua needs to be on God's side, not God on Joshua's side. b.We usually ask God to bless our plans, but what are his plans, we need to be on His side. When we are totally submitted to Him, He fights for us. c. Joshua was questioning Him until he realized it was God Himself, then he was humbled and fell face down in reverence. d. Joshua was totally submitted to God and would do whatever He asked. He could now be confident that the Lord would do what he said he would... deliver Jericho into his hands along with its king and its fighting men.
  6. 2. a. Mary did not have much options - she may have felt that Joseph would reject her thinking she may have had an affair, she could have been stoned for adultery, she would bring shame to her parents, people would talk about her, no one else would marry her because of the shame it would bring to them, she could not very well hide her pregnancy. b. He was of good character. He was righteous, honorable and wanted to do the right thing. He did not want to expose her publicly bringing disgrace on her therefore, he decided to divorce her quietly.
  7. 1. a. He would have learned a skilled trade from Joseph, how to work with wood, make furniture, take care of his tools of the trade, build a good relationship with his earthly father Joseph and people, learning by the example of Joseph and how he treated his customers and being brought up in a Godly home and having respect for others. b. Learn about people and their different wants and needs. Being exposed to people you can't please. Taking criticism and how to handle it with a good attitude. Experiencing doing a good job and pleasing Joseph.
  8. 5. a. The title "Blessed Virgin Mary" is appropriate for Mary because she was Blessed to be chosen to be the Mother of God, Virgin because she was one. Just as God chose Mary to carry the Christ, he has chosen us (those who have asked Christ to be their Lord and Savior) to carry Jesus, as we are now the Temple of the Living God, Christ in us the hope of glory. "Mother of God" --- Mother of the God/Man who came to die for us sinners and redeem us by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost. b. I am hesitant because being brought up in the Catholic faith I have seen where people exalt her as one who answers prayers and gives favors by praying to her. She truly was blessed among women, but so are we now to have Christ in our hearts. I worship the Triune God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit. To God be the Glory great things he has done.
  9. 4. a. King of Glory - He is King over all, altogether glorious, awesome, let this King of Glory in our lives that he may change us altogether from glory to glory, He is the one who fights our battles, strong and mighty. There is no other glory that can compare with the Glory of God. When Moses asked God to show me your Glory, he could not because no human could look at God face to face and live. When John, on the Isle of Patmos saw God's glory he was like as a dead man. Father of Glory - The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who gives us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. b. They tell us that God is King, Holy, Glorious, Above All, All Mighty, etc. c. He is to be worshiped, reverenced and adored. d. God's Glory comes to fill our lives when we surrender to Him and ask Him to be Lord and Savior of our lives. Only then can he change us from glory to glory to be more like Jesus. Faithful is He that called you who also will do it.
  10. 4. a. She was willing and obedient to submit herself to the will of God. b. We responded to the call of God when by his grace and mercy chose us to be His servant. He even gave us the faith to respond ( a gift of God). God has His best for us that is why we need to respond to His call with faith and obedience. c. Mary's response was with an informed consent because she asked how could this be, the angel told her, and she consented to the miracle God was about to do in her life, the birth of the Son of God. d. We consent to His having full control of our lives by walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
  11. 3. a. He is above all gods, high and lifted up, exalted, there is none higher, He lives forever, He is Holy. b. I am to be totally committed to Him, in fellowship, prayer, worship, adoration and walking in the Spirit. Trusting in Him for He is my hope my joy and my salvation. Looking forward to spending eternity with Him.
  12. 3. a. Conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin... He is fully God and fully man. Is holy as God the Father is holy having a divine nature. b. It is central to the Christian message because Jesus came in the flesh to save sinners, to die for our redemption. Because He is God, He was the perfect sacrifice. His sinless blood opened a way for us to have peace with God the Father. In a way it speaks to me of the Holy Spirit overshadowing me the night I got saved. It was a new birth in me that made me alive to God. I started praising God. The whole world looked new to me, I started noticing how beautiful the sky was and started to talk to people about God. Felt a wonderful joy in my being. How awesome is our God!! l
  13. 2. a. Most High to me means that He is the Supreme God above all gods. There is none else, he is the one and only God. Creator of the universe. The Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Lord of Lords, King of Kings. The God we all should worship and adore because he upholds all things by the word of His power. The God we should love with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. The God who truly loves us, who is always with us and will never leave us or forsake us. b. Because he is the Most High there is no end to his wonderful attributes, therefore, we can never run out of things to praise Him about. His word helps us discover who He is, therefore it is the bank of these treasures, also, the wonderful revelations He gives to us about Himself, helps us to grow up in love for Him more and more each day.
  14. 2.a. Mary's How was "How can this be, I am a virgin"? Zechariah's How was questioning the angel (unbelief) wanting proof....How can I be sure this will happen, I am an old man and my wife is well along in years. b.
