It is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth who convicts us of our Sins. And as soon as we repent of those sins we become genuinely born again and the Holy Spirit also bears witness with our spirit that we are sons of God. This is the way of salvation. Adopting a christian Faith without repentance of known sins produces a prodigal son. People avoid repentance because they dont want to leave their old ways of life. Jesus said to is disciples: if you continue in my word, then you are my disciple indeed and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Only God knows the percentage of unrepentant christians these days. But we know that God is not interested in the death of a sinner but that all should come to the saving knowledge of His dear son Jesus christ. Amen.
