  5. Q2. (Matthew 18:23-35) In the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant, what is the purpose of contrasting the huge debt with the small one? If we were to put ourselves in the parable, which debt would we owe? Which debt might be owed us? Why was the king insulted by the unmerciful servant
  6. Q1. (Matthew 18:21-22) Jesus says we must forgive 77 times or 490 times. Should we take these numbers literally or figuratively? If figurative, what are they figurative of? What does this teach us about God
  7. Q4. (John 3:16) Why is this verse so famous? What does it teach us about God? What does it teach us about salvation? Since
  8. Q1. (John 3:3, 5) What does Jesus teach here about the nature of the Kingdom of God? Do you think Nicodemus understands him? Why or why not? What Jesus teaches first it must be spiritually discerned. One can't see it unless God enables one to see the Kingdom Kingdom can't be enter unless you are spiritually changed new life and born again and baptised with water and the Spirit Nicodemus did not understans or he would not have answered Jesus thinking how he would have to enter his mother's womb again (John 3:4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?")
  9. Q4. What does Jesus teach us about the value and worth of the Kingdom? Why are we tempted to value it so little? What helps us to appreciate its true value? How might your testimony help a seeking friend to value the Kingdom more? Jesus is teaching us that the Kingdom is a far greater treasure to have than what we have in money, power etc and far more valuable than what we have. We are tempted to value it so little because we value possessions ,power ,money they are the root of all evil To listen to the teachings of the Lord our God we can learn to understand and to foolow that lead my testimony of how my life was before I was saved and to shine the light for Jesus and how I behave in my christian life is a beacon of what God has done for me would help friends family and even strangers to know what he has done for me and that I will inherit eternal life in the kingdom and if they follow me towards Jesus they too can inherit the treasures of the Kingdom.....
  10. Q3. (Mark 10:22) Why is poverty and self-sacrifice an inadequate religion? Why does Jesus ask the man to follow him? In what senses was this a great privilege that the man was offered? Why did he reject the offer? poverty and self-sacrifice is not what Jesus is asking really,he was trying to find out if how far the man was prepaired to go for God as is said we cannot worship two Gods there is only one way to the Kingdom and that is to follow Christ. To foolow Jesus was the greatest privilege of all The man rejected Jesus offer as he couldnt give up what he had to follow jesus so he was worshipping allhis power and money before God
  11. Q2. (Mark 10:21) Why do you think Jesus requires the rich young ruler to divest himself of his fortune? Why does this trouble us so much? If there was no other way for the man to be saved, what does that say about the spiritual dangers of wealth? Jesus wanted to know if the young rulers heart was pure, and what he was prepaired to give up for God! why it trouble us so much is we live in a world that money wealth and power is our ruler asking us to give up on our possessions would be like asking to cut off our limbs.Money, power etc are not the way to the riches that await us in the kingdom ,as Gods treasures are more than what we can ever imagine. It is saying about the spiritual dangers of wealth being we cannot worship both money and God we need to serve only one GOD
  12. Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? The two parables talk of terasure and the Kingdom being the treasure we can have great Joy in finding,we must be prepaired to give up on our old life for the new life we have found. How should it affect our values is the way we follow Christ We must follow our faith in him and shine like a beacon for all to see
  13. Hello everyone ,my name is margaret and I live in the United Kingdom. I am married and have grown up children and grandchildren, one my 11 year old is getting baptised at the same time as myself. soTo me that is a testimony of the good Lords work in her. quetion? has anyone got the transcript of week threes lesson I missed it trust me.I am enjoying this walk with Christ series and hope it will help to understand my Bible more thank you for listening God Bless you all
  14. Q4. (Luke 17:33-36) What does our passage teach about the separation and judgment that will occur when the Kingdom comes? How should this affect our lives? Our testimony? Our love for our neighbors? Jesus teaches us that the time is coming ,He is coming, not the way he came before,it will be quick, sudden people will be seperated (even the dead)He will come like a thief in the night husbands and wives will be seperated siblings, neighbours. We have to show people NOW while we have the chance that the Lord Jesus is the only way,we should shine Jesus' love so others will see and change before it is too late, our testimony should be our love of Jesus and walk in his way. Some will be saved and go on to everlasting life others will die and be left behind.what an aweful thought but it is one that is coming so we musr be prepaired for his coming. The coming of the Kingdom
  15. Q3. (Luke 17:24-32) What indications does Jesus give in this passage that he will suddenly come in his Kingdom without further warning? What are the implications of this for our attitude? For our lives? Jesus only tells us like Noah and Lot that he will come swiflty and without warning people will be going about there usual business when he will come. We are told by Jesus not to go back for anything Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it." (Luke 17:31-33) Those who are concerned about material things will be destroyed. Only those who look forward to the Lord's coming will be saved. Though told to run for her life without looking back, Lot's wife paused and looked back longingly at Sodom -- and became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:17, 23-26).
  16. Q1. (Luke 17:21) In what sense was the Kingdom of God present in the Person and ministry of Jesus? In what sense is the Kingdom of God present today? The Kingdom of God is within your heart within oneself and the teachings of what Jesus was yet to teach. The Kingdom of God in present day is not unsimilar to those of Jesus Day,we still have to abide in the Holy law that God has written and we as desciples of Christ must carry God's word to unbelievers and sinners the world over.he has sent the Holy spirit to cleanse us and we must shine in his light AMEN
  17. Q3. (Matthew 13:23) Even good soil can have factors that hinder growth in various parts of the field, or make some areas grow taller and fuller wheat. What factors make a disciple especially good soil for the growth of the word or message of the Kingdom? What might be the reasons for 30-fold, 60-fold, and 100-fold growth? As with a good seed they need good soil, sun, water, food, and weeded daily. So the seedlings grow in strength. A good disciple needs to listen and understand the word of God and what Jesus has been telling us about the Holy Spirit and the kingdom. as for what is sown on good soil, this is the one who hears and understands it he indeed bears s fruit and yields in one case a hundred fold in another sixty and another 30 (Matthew 13v23)
  18. Q2. (Matthew 13:22; Luke 8:14) Which of the thorns that Jesus mentions do you think is the most dangerous: Riches, worries/cares, or pleasures? Why do you think so? All the three thorns are dangerous, because they all choke our faith and trust in God and the Lord Jesus. Sin is the wrong way and takes us on a rocky path full of weeds that choke the life out of the seed, and like that seed we need to listen and hear the Word of God and follow the right path we can only do this by (like the seed) spread our roots and grow strong in our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus and weed out the weeds (sin) in our lives and grow in the love and Grace of Jesus and God
