1) Perseverance in faith is hard sometimes because we let flesh get in the way. We don't want to go thru any trials and tribulation. We must keep our eye on the prize. 2) Perserverance is important because it show our faith is real. We need to endure to receive the reward that has been promised. 3) Christian fellowship is important in perserverance because we can encourage each other. 4) To encourage other Christians we can exhort them, pray for them, remind them of the wonderful reward at the end and show them love.

1) The kind of sin expressed by the phrase "deliberately keep on sinning" is referring to people that know better. Treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him. Insulted the Spirit of grace.

Q2. Meeting Together
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Let Us Draw Near: Confidence of Faith (Hebrews 10:19-39)
1) The prime motive for meeting together with other Christians should be to encourage one another towards love and good deeds. 2) Our usual motivation is usually for our own selfish reasons. We consider ourselves first and foremost. We look at what I can get not how I can help someone else. 3) Christians often get out of the habit of attending church or a small group setting because we look at whether it meets our need. 4) We can help these individuals by encouraging them, praying for them and inviting them to attend service. -
1) The veil of the Tabernacle function in Old Testament was to separate the Holy Place from the Holy of Holiness. 2) The significance of the veil being ripped in two at Jesus' crucifixion showed that believers do not have to go thru the priest for forgiveness they may walk in the presence of God at anytime. 3) Our access to God is called a new and living way because this is something that had never been done before. 4) It is new because it didn't exist for humans before Jesus opened up the way through his sacrifice for our sins, and living because he is not a mere martyr but a resurrected and living Savior, who "always lives to make intercession" (Hebrews 7:25) for us.

blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 8. Jesus, Our Willing Sacrifice (Hebrews 9:13-10:18)
1) Christ came and died for our sins in his First Coming. In his Second Coming He came as our Savior to bring salvation. 2) The Jews were looking for the Messiah, someone of royalty to deliver them from their enemy and bring salvation. 3) Isaiah 53 foretold Jesus First Coming. Jesus is described as the Suffering Servant. He took on, assumed our sin in order to carry it away. -
Q2. Redeemer and Ransom
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 8. Jesus, Our Willing Sacrifice (Hebrews 9:13-10:18)
1) Jesus serves as a mediator because He is the one that has brought God and us together. We were seprated from God by sin and Jesus sacrifice brought new life to man. 2) Jesus is a ransome from sin because He gave His life so I might live. -

Q4. Letting God Fight the Battle
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Finding Courage to Stand (Exodus 5-11)
1) We tend to fight our battles "in the flesh" rather than using spiritual weapons because that is nature of the flesh. We tend to see battles that we fight as our battles. 2) We often mistake the human enemy for the spiritual enemy because, again, of the flesh. We let our emotions get the best of us and latch out because this is someone we can see. 3) God will fight our battles when they are battles of faith and prayer. He will not fight our battles when they are human strategy and clever words. -
1) Redemption mean deliverance from something for a price. 2) We were redeemed from our slavery to sin and from our death sentence on account of our sins. 3) The price of our redemption is Christ's own blood, offered freely, willingly and lovingly for our sins. 4) This redemption is for all time, for ever and ever.

1) The Old Covenant did not provide forgiveness for intentional, active, maintained rebellion against God. 2) Yes, the New Covenant does provide for this forgiveness through the death of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 3) For forgiveness to be granted we must believe, humble ourselves and repent.
-
1) The Old Covenant failed because man did not remain faithful to the covenant. 2) The primary promsies of the New Covenant are: a. God's law will no longer be external, but will become internalized "in their hearts... on their hearts" by the Holy Spirit. b. They will be together as God and His people. c. They will all know the Lord personally. d. They will be forgiven from their sins.

Q3. Compromising
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Finding Courage to Stand (Exodus 5-11)
1) Moses did not accept Pharaoh's compromises because he was obeying God and committed to do His will. 2) A church leader should accept compromises when it is not against God's will and to keep the church moving forward. 3) It is wrong for a church leader to compromise when it is against God's will and they have clearly been shown what to do. -
Q2. The Courage to Confront
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Finding Courage to Stand (Exodus 5-11)
1) It is difficult for some church leaders to confront people because they fear how the person will react or they do not like confrontation. 2) The fears that a church leader face may be unpopularity, people quiting the ministry, lost of respect, people not tithing, being asked to resign or in some cases violent reaction. 3) Confrontation and rebuke can be a good thing because it can correct a situation up front, one can be preceived as an effective leader and a leader that knows how to get things done. The ministry will not be hindered by nonsense. My Pastor always saids you can'nt fix it if you don't face it! 4) When we refuse to confront a situation it will get worse. One will not be looked upon as being an effective leader. -
Q1. Blaming and Resisting God
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Finding Courage to Stand (Exodus 5-11)
1) Moses blamed God for his troubles because the people blamed him. 2) I think that they are stubborn because of fear and unbelief. Pharaoh is a powerful man and could have done great harm to them. However, they forgot or had not yet recognized who is all powerful. The people would not listen to them and they could have been fearful that they would revolt against them. Since nothing they had done or said soften Pharaoh's heart they began to wonder with unbelief. Not any different than us today. If God does not move when we feel he should, be begin to have doubt. 3) God had to command Moses and Aaron because up to this point they had not disobeyed Him and He knew they would obey Him. Even though they moved slow or showed fear and doubt they did what God had asked. I also believe it was God's way to encourage them. To re-emphasize that He was with them. -
Q4. Fear and Courage
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. The Birth and Call of Moses (Exodus 1-4)
1) We are afraid to obey God...because we lack faith. We are no different that Moses. We may feel inadequate as he did. We may even be concerned about what others will think. 2) We are to pray for God's strength. We must remember that God will not ask us to do something without equipping us or giving us the resources to do it. 3) Relationship of fear to courage is fear is how we react to a situation and courage is overcoming our fears. 4) Leaders and disciples must have courage to get the job done. You may have to go or do some things that may seem impossible but have the courage to attack it anyway. -

Q4. Christ, our High Priest
blezed replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Jesus, Our High Priest Forever (Hebrews 6:13-7:28)
1) Jesus is described in verse 26 as holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and made higher than heavens. 2) Jesus differs from human high priests because He offered up sacrifice offering once and not daily as the human priests had to. Christ sacrifice for sins was for all, human priest had to offer sacrifice for their own sins first and then for the people. Jesus was made perfect for evermore and human priest were weak and could not keep from sinning. 3) Jesus role as High Priest gives me special confidence because His death served as special atonement for my sins. His death brought me eternal life. The comfort of knowing He is sitting on right hand side of the Father intercessing on my behalf.
