  1. The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of truth. Repentence is acceptance of the truth
  2. Both John and Jesus baptize those who receive with open hearts and minds the message given. Both baptize by completely overwhelming the person being baptized. In both cases the baptism marks a change in the life of the one being baptized. The difference between John
  3. Baptism was for outsiders, for those who were not Jews. From time to time Gentiles believed in the one true God of the Israelites and wanted to become Jews. They were publicly baptized, turning away from their heritage and worship of other gods and turning to God. This was repentance in the sense that it was a complete turn around in a person
  4. Q1. What happens when people adopt the Christian faith without repenting of their known sins? Why do people avoid repentance? What percentage of Christians today do you think are unrepentant, unprepared in heart? I think that people who adopt the Christian faith without repenting of known sins miss the whole point of being a Christian. Unrepentence produces a wall between God and the person concerned so that an intimate relationship cannot flourish. We avoid repentence because it is an admittance of failure. We want to feel that we are worth something. Admitting our sins seems like a weakness and does not seem to help us in our desire to be admired by others. It is impossible to say what percentage of Christians today are unrepentant and unprepared in heart. Only God knows what is really going on in a person
