  1. hi, I think God does want us to be bold as we approach the throne of grace and mercy. I had car trouble and was stranded. I was able to get my sisters car. Five miles down the road, I came to myself. I began to talk to God and said to him,,, this is your battle, I have other things to do ,,, you know .... the things you instructed me to do.. the broke car is not on the list. so fix it. You are God, you handle it. Now I know it might seem disrespectful, but I was battling to overcome despair and not let worry set in. I am not suppose to worry. I am driving a new car for only $166.00 more a month than my monthly bills. Praise the Lord.
  2. What relationship does God's promise to Abraham in 12:2-3 have to do with the incident of Sarah's abduction in 20:10-20? how quickly Abraham forgot Gods promise. we do forget, and we need the ministers and Christians to remind us of Gods promise and His love.
  3. Being in agreement with the others, God can forgive if one truly repents. That means not to do it again. Reading the comments, one stated sex being between two wedded. I noticed that the laws in the US are marrying same sex. I would like to say that I hope it was a given that the person meant two wedded persons being man and woman.
  4. We should not make plans to bother the chosen persons of God. Maybe this is one of the reasons the Ten Commandments talks about coveting.
  5. The point most outstanding for me is that even when you feel there is no other way out, God is there. If I can remember that Abraham did not trust God, and God still had his back, then maybe I can remember to trust God more.
  6. Greetings, Abraham was probably afraid, and this promise was a calming promise that if anyone bothered them, God would keep his promise and if someone blessed them , then they would be blessed. Just God reassuring Abraham that He would be with them. What a wonderful promise. We can still hold on to that promise.
  7. hi, My name is Bonita and this is the second study I have participated in. I have grandchildren and two pet fish. I am an assistant pastor and have two sons. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and learning new things about Abraham. I participated in the Joshua study and it was so good, a group of us continued to keep in touch.
  8. hi, is it faith if we know in advance? In looking at a situation, my friend would look at all of the obstacles and point them out to me. Well, I would have to report that God told me to do the thing and He would work it out. Pressing my way through has been a wonderful thing. The praise report was that with each instance, when I arrived at a particular point, God had already shown up and worked it out. That makes it easier for me the next time I have an assignment.
  9. I agree with Millie, I can call on the Lord just because I want to hear from him. I don't have to want anything, just to talk. I like the saying, and it is true, I am a child of the most High God. It reminds me of who and whose I am. The gratitude kicks in when one can understand the different names and HE is just that to us.
  10. Abram was blessed by the promise that God made to him. Talk about a wonderful covenant. It was one of the first promises I fully realized. It still holds much truth. hi mary
  11. Q1. (11:32) Have you ever begun something in response to God's urging and then stopped? Did God want you to stop? Is it time now to renew your obedience and begin again? Yes, I have begun something and stopped. While a new Christian, I would begin things and have no staying power. Since becoming more mature in Christ, I take my responsibilities more serious and have to stick to it.
