  1. moses couldn't get that he would be soley in charge of six hundred thousand people. There fore the Lord God told him to chose 70 elders to help take the burden of these people off Moses.God was also to put the spirit upon them that Moses shared. The people demanded meat. So God was now preparing to give the people meat for 30 days until such time it would come out their ears (so to speak). Even Moses doubted that this was possible. The Lord said to Moses "Is the Lord's arm too short? You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you. Again, Moses needed to see as well that Our God is Mighty and Powerful, then for the Israelites and now for us. The next day and night,it rained down quail. The people gathered and consumed it with no respect for the Lord. God struck them with a severe plague. Here lies the people who craved other food.
  2. At this time in the life of Moses, he is 80 years old. He had spent 40 years in the desert and was a shpherd for his father-in-law there. Not much for people skills needed there. He lived a quiet life. Then God has him doing this job of leading the Isrealites to the promised land. This job was way out of his elements. He was old, he stuttered, he was a desert person. At this time the people remembered things from Egypt that was not as important, because they where slaves then. Moses was tired of baby-sitting these ungrateful people.
  3. A. Aaron's sin with the golden calf was that he shared in it. He led it. Using his religion and their religion, he combined the two and made one. B.He didn't take reasponsibility for his actions because he didn't think that he had done anything wrong. He felt like Moses was in charge, and Moses was not there. Actually he was trying to please the people before they got out of control, because Moses was taking so long up on the mountain. C. I am ashamed to know that he wasn't reprimanded like Miriam in Numbers 12. Already then it was a 'man thing' I suppose! D. In a case like this, where God is your goal, and you represent Him, it is a huge reasponsibility. It is so easy to lead people astray. People are born with a ' herding instinct', so you had better settle for truth than lies. E.Leaders learn from their mistakes when they are found out and corrected, in private or in public.
  4. A. These people had been in slavery in Egypt for 400 years. The practice in Egypt was worshipping animals. The Isrealites lost their faith in God by that time. Or maybe a tiny remnent was all that was left of that faith. B. Aaron also had Egypt to thank for his loss of memory of the God of his fathers. He was practicing what we call 'syncretism, that means serving our God and their gods all at the same time. C. The golden calf made God really angry, especially since they had heard Moses telling them about the ten commandments. Thou shalt not bow down and worship idols. D. Today any given church might have statues, new cars in the parking lot, charming wardrobes, stunning hair colors and styles. Sports also effect a persons time to worship properly and faithfully.
  5. God provided mama for the people. It would seem that being in the desert, there would not be much to eat. God watched over them carefully. Teaching them that He would take care of them and maybe they would learn that. Even today we need to celebrate the Sabbeth Day as being a Holy Day. As Christians we need to know that God will provide if we follow His Word, and trust Him to lead us through hard times. The manna finally stopped after 40 years as they reached the Promised Land. The people didn't have to work for this manna. God just provided it for them. They just had to believe in Him. That's all. Also they should have been more thankful. At times we forget that everything we have belongs to God. Our homes, cars, children, etc. We are the stewards of our homes, bank accounts, children. EVERYTHING WE HAVE BELONGS TO OUR GOD.....Thanking Him for this blessing would please Him a lot. Daily!
  6. Taking our frustrations out on a leader seems less dangerous. We know about the 'preverbual lightening bolt' if we address God in anger. Leaders take complaints personally because they too are human. It' not easy being a target for the Lord. It has to be an honor. To risk all! For Jesus sake! To learn that it's not "about you" is having been broken down a few times. Reaching out to Our Father for strength. Knowing what you are saying is the truth, from the Bible. God's Holy Word. Living a clean life.Serving the Lord with great expectations.
  7. 1.Why did Moses blame God for his troubles? Why not. Moses was the middle-man in this situation. He had to follow the instructions of God, but the people had more trouble brought on them,so they blamed Moses.Things where getting worse for his people, not better and that frustrated Moses, I think. 2. Moses and Aaron are in their eighties by this time. Moses had been gone from that life with the Pharaoh. This is a new experience for them.Faith had a lot to do with it.That is a learning experience, to trust God with all your heart, mind ,soul, and strenght. 3. God has to command Moses and Aaron, because on their own they won't go.
  8. 1. Why do we tend to fight our battles "in the flesh" rather than using spiritual weapons? At first, as spiritual babies, we are fragile, irresponsible, milk-drinking infants who lack discernment and strength. But as time passes, we should begin to grow up spiritually . Rom:13; 12. "So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light. 2.Why do we so often mistake the human enemy for the spiritual enemy? We humans, born in sin,use the animal instinct at times. Fight or flight! The shoot first and ask questions later society must stop."Forgive them Father for they know not what they do" Maybe we had better draw from the inner spiritual strength within us first. 3. When will God fight our battles and when won't He? Worshipping and glorifying the Lord comes first. Anything asked in humble obedience to His will would have me believe that our Father would help me. In arrogant rudeness and selfish motives would I know that God would flatly refuse to acknowledge me.
  9. Hi you very wonderful people out there who love Our God as much as I do. I live in Canada.

Life has me visiting the old, shut-ins weekly. God had laid that on my heart. I love doing His work.I am thrilled to see so many of you reaponding with such Christian form. Praise be to our Holy Father, Holy Son and Holy Spirit. God bless you one and all.

  10. Why is God angry with Moses? Even though Moses was raised in the Pharaoh's Palace did not make him the kings son. He had many who where more important than himself. I suppose he knew that he was a Hebrew. He was neither one or the other What is Moses' basic sin? He had religious instruction from his mother before he was to head on to the Palace. His mother told him never to forget who he was or forget our God. Like us, he .tried to 'pass the buck' but God would not except that. We too are open-season to God's plans, however little or big they might be. We have an advantage over Moses. We have our Bible as a G.P.S. to guide us.Has the Lord ever been angry at me? What a question that is! Naturally, since we are born in sin, anytime I break a commandment(and that's easy) 0ffends Our Father. The Lord told Moses to use his brother Aaron to speak on his behalf. This way, they where both learning. Also, Moses was given a staff in his hand by God for Moses to perform miraclous signs .
  11. I have noticed that men make such good decisions right off the top. My self, being a woman works mainly with my heart. That can be a hinderance at the best of times. When we are confronting a member of the family who is clearly going the wrong way, again, our heart gets in the way. When the Lord wants us to love each other, I'm sure He meant also to step out side of ourselves to use our common sense as well. When we get to such a moment, we are weak, and that is the time when we ask our Father to give us the strength we so badly need. For when I am weak, I am strong in the Lord. Your comment was excellent, for sure. Blessing on your day.
  12. 1. Usually we didn't even understand at first what God wants from us in the first place. We are also aware of Satan r oaming freely on this earth. In prayer often will we finally feel the message from God. 2.Fear, to me means we have left God out of our lives. Attempting to work through a new event on our own. Recognise that fact and include God in our daily plans. 3.Everyone experiences fear at the best of times. When we learn to walk with the Lord, we experience the loving courage we need. 4.People who have become Spiritual leaders usually are equipped with courage because of their daily connection with the Lord. Same conscept as using gaseoling in our cars to keep them running.
  13. Question 1. Moses clearly sees himself as a Hebrew , that much he'll defend! As for his tactics, on his own, as one guy, he strikes out in anger and frustrations. He has a fine education, but not in leadership. He defends the 'underdog'. But I see that Moses was sneaky and bad tempered.
