  1. Fear had caused Moses to hesitate to obey God from the beginning so when he did obey God, Pharaoh's adamant refusal to listen reinforced Moses' fear. Immediately, Moses blamed the One who had issued the initial command. Fear is the reason that both Aaron and Moses are stubborn and reluctant to obey God. The task was an enormous one and these two Hebrews were often overcome with fear and doubt. God had to command Moses and Aaron because of the importance of the mission. God did not want cowards and doubters to stand before the great Pharaoh. He wanted strong men full of faith in the power of God.
  2. We are afraid to obey God because of lack of faith in Him. We are not confident in God's love for us. We do not believe totally what He says about never leaving us or forsaking us. Also, often our relationship with God is not mature enough to believe Him or trust that He loves us totally. Fear can be defeated with perfect(mature) love. Working on our love relationship with our Lord will help diminish fear. Prayer and study of God's word will help to make our love truly real. Fear is lack of trust in God; courage is trust in God. A leader must be courageous to face the many battles before him/her. Fear will prevent effective leadership. Fear will cripple a mission or a ministry. People will not follow someone who is overcome with fear. God has promised to strengthen his people if they will trust Him.
  3. Hello everyone. I am a pastor of many years, but a first time member of this online study. It is a blessing to be a part of this group. I look forward to the sharing of the word.
