  1. We lose our first love by departing from the lovong and outstreched arms of Jesus. He came to be a light and we dim it by watering down the Word. We seek to bring people into the church building but not the kingdom. we try to do it on our own merits and what we think the world would want to seek. We show a true love for Jesus when we care more for the soul than we do for the body. We share the true Word of God. He said if my people would humble themselves and pray he is just and will forgive us our sins. We need to turn back to our first love. Christ and Him crucified.
  2. In the Gospels Christ is shown as a Lamb and a sacrifice. He was meek(except when He thought his Father house was misused) and allowed himself to be to be taken and scourged to the point of death. In Revelation he is seen in all his power and glory. A judge of the earth. All powerul so we can rest in comfort when we know we have such a One as He looking over us.
  3. In America we face some slight tribulations because of peer pressure and lately from oue own government as they try to do away with anything regarding God or his Word. There are other countries such as North Korea and the countries of the Middle East and Africa where to stand up for The Lord means loss of freedom, family or even life itself. Revelation shows that all that has to be faced in this world has been overcome by Christ the King. Hallelujah!!!
  4. Like the member "Biblereader" the text in red made me think that at first it was Jesus but then the word "Almighty" at the end signifies the Father. We must remember that certain things are placed in the Bible are by man such as the words of Christ in red and words in italics which were not in the original texts but added for clarification in English. Since both the Father and Jesus both claimed to be the beginning and the end I think Christ was reemphasizing his equality with the Father as the Son Incarnate. Just as he said if you've seen Me, you've seen the Father. Both are the same except in the way in which they deal and reveal themselves to man.
  5. When we as individuals or the church as a whole face persecution we draw strength from somone who has already been tested and overcome the same situation. Christ is faithful in that he is always there and ready to share by way of His Word and His Spirit the that tribulations, persecutions and even death has been overcome. He is the first begotten of the Father but also of death. He warned us in the Gospels that just as the world hated and persecuted Him it would also persecute us as we live through him. Even today many Christian are silent because they want to be accepted and liked by friends and family. Peer pressure is prevalent even as adults. No one wants to stand out in a crowd but Christ demands this of us. We are the Light and so must shine before men.
