  1. Have you ever felt you were of no worth or of no value? I feel that I make myself feel I have no worth or value, but God knows my real value and if I listen to Him, He will reveal my true worth to me. What does 1 Peter 1:18-19 say about your worth? That it was paid with Christ's blood. What does it say about God's love for you? That God loves us so much that He sacrificed His son for us. What does it indicate about the long-term value of your balance sheet and financial assets? They will be meaningless when we get to heaven - nobody wants their toombstone to read I wish my stocks held more value... What are your true long-term investments? To be more like Jesus and to follow His words to the end. Why? Beacause He can show us the way when we are willing to follow hHim no matter what we feel, think, or understand.
  2. Why are people in our culture so upset when they sense they are being judged by someone else? they feel that no one is above each other's lives and cannot tell each other how to be happy, how to live, it's called free will. How do you reconcile final judgement with God's love for the world? To remember his love for us and to spread that into the world. Why must final judgement be at the core of the Good News of Jesus Christ? Because we need to know that we will be held accountable for our actions on this earth after we die. He wants nothing but the best in our lives, but we need to make the choice to do the right thing. What happens when final judgement is left out or ignored? We live our lives as we see fit and get what we put into life.
  3. In your own words, how would you define "holiness"? To be like GOD, be with GOD- make GOD 1st in my life. In what sense are you (by definition) holy now? To take time to learn and do God's word. In what sense must you be obedient in order to become holy? To read HIS words and follow them no matter what we think of them. What is your biggest struggle with holiness? To follow-up on what I read in the bible and not let the world enter into it.
  4. What about Christ's coming should get our undivided attention? We will recieve salvation and grace for what we have done. Why should it inspier hope? because without hope we have nothing to look forward to. Why should it inspire self-control and soberness? Beacuse that is what Jesus was and is all about. What happens in our lives when we don't reallyexpect Christ to come soon? We lose any hope so we then live our lives as we see fit-do whatever we want.
  5. It is going on right now with not working because of a injury @ work. He is showing me to have faith in HIM and help me through this difficult time. It shows GOD that with faith in HIM you can get past the difficulties in your life, this in turn makes you a better person in everyone else's life.
  6. Q3. (1:5) According to 1 Peter 1:5 What is God's part in securing your salvation? What is your part? His promise, We need to have faith in his promise
  7. Because once we're obedient to GOD we can then be forgiven. We have fallen into thinking it is our right to choose what we want to follow. GOD shows us the right way to follow but leaves it up to us to follow up. Extra credit... Because GOD knows our hearts, we can't fake that, but if we are not careful, we start to think that our works please GOD and that is enough.
  8. Q1. Too many times we get caught up in the worldly things- we become "worldly christians" the world first- GOD second. Yes, because I came to follow the Lord later in my life, I've learned to rely on myself or the world beforetrusting GOD. I need to remember whose I am, not who I am. I need to learn to trust GOD in all aspects of my life in the world
