  1. To be "holy" means we are set apart, consecrated to God, separated to him as his possession. God has claimed us and we belong to him. I can stand "blameless" before God because through Jesus I have a right to stand before God without being self-conscious and sin-conscious. Because of what Jesus did for me I can enter his throne of grace boldly with a slate wiped clean of any sin or imperfection.
  2. What is scary about predestination is the way people interpret the results of predestination that exclude people from God's grace with no opportunity for redress. The comforting part of predestination is that God speaks the end from the beginning. He is destining things to happen before they take place in our temporal world. Paul brought up predestination because he does not want us to live in ignorance regarding the theme of predestination. He wants to remind us that God is greater than us and has planned much for us that is beyond our understanding. Paul is praising God for it in the "hearing" of the Ephesians to let them know that God has a plan that he is bringing to fruition and we are all part of it. Glory to God! Hallelujah!!.
  3. To be "in Christ" means we are in him and he is in us. His life is our life. The implications of this for my life is that I imitate his way of doing things. I have a closer walk with him.
  4. Adoption is a particularly apt illustration of God's relationship to us because through adoption we acquire the same rights and privileges as a naturally-bon son in the Kingdom of God. The concept of adoption is encouraging to us because in the Kingdom of God women and men inherit fully and equally. Hallelujah! Glory to God!!
  5. To be "holy" means that we are set apart, consecrated to God, separated to him as his possession. God has claimed us and we belong to him. We can stand "blameless" before God because God has forgiven our sins through Jesus Christ. Now he sees us as "blameless" one who can stand before his throne with a slate wiped clean of any sin or imperfection.
  6. What is scary about predestination is about what some people claim are the results of predestination, that exclude people from God's grace with no opportunity for redress. What is comforting is to know that God sees the end from the beginning. God destining things to happen before they take place in our temporal world. God has a plan that he is bringing to fruition and the whole human race is part of it. Paul brings up predestination to emphasize that the Gentile Church and present Church of Jesus is not some accident of history, but part of God's carefully and executed plan, begun before the ages, but the world was created, which comes to focus in Jesus Christ our Lord. Paul is praising God for it in the "hearing" of the Ephesians "to appreciate the dignity of their calling" to be chosen of God.
  7. For me to be "in Christ" means that I am engrafted into Christ. I am in Him and He is in me. The implication of this for my life is that I bear the fruits of His nature. I do the same works he does and receive the same results as his.
  8. God told Moses to speak to the rock to bring water out of the rock. Moses struck the rock twice. Moses sin by not trusting God. It is also disobedience. Anger, disobedience, and insubordination were behind his sin. Yes, I think so. Leaders must judge themselves, repent and ask God for forgiveness, then move on with their leadership role.
  9. Christians should look forward to the events surrounding our resurrection because our Christian faith/hope is built on the resurrection. Christians have largely lost this as their active expectation and hope because the resurrection message/truths are no longer taught. More teachings on the resurrection message should be taught in order to reclaim these truths.
  10. Our resurrection bodies will be like that of Jesus. We will be given resurrection bodies in order to operate in both the spirit realm and on earth. The point is that we can be able to rule in both heaven and earth.
  11. What it tells us about the status of the Lamb that he is worshiped alongside "him who sits on the throne" is that he is worthy to be praised and worshiped the same as he who sits on the throne. They are of the same status.
  12. The phrase "redemption of our bodies" (Romans 8:23-24) tell us about our resurrection. Our bodies will be transformed into a glorified bodies and will no longer be subjected to the laws of nature. Sickness and disease will no longer have power over our bodies. In 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 these words describe our resurrection bodies: incorruptible bodies, powerful bodies, and glorious bodies.
  13. The Lamb was slain and become triumphant and so become worthy to take the scroll and open its seals. The Lamb was slain in order to buy us back from the slavery of sin. His death/shedding of his blood has paved the way for us to have easy access to the throne room.
  14. According to these verses, we will be immediately ushered into the presence of Jesus. We will await the resurrection in heaven.
  15. The Lamb itself represents Jesus Christ. Standing after being slain indicates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Horns represent strength and power. Eyes represent seven lamps. The number seven carries the idea of perfection and completeness. To summarize, then, the Lamb has the qualities of being of completeness of God's plan of salvation and the perfection of his creation.
  16. Moses is so frustrated in his prayer (Numbers 11:11-15) because his faith in God at that moment was fading away. Emotionally Moses was depressed, frustrated, and stressed out and physically he was exhausted and worn out. No, he does not have any grounds for his complaints knowing very well that God always have a plan and he sees the end from the beginning. Moses knows that God will do what he wants to do. Yes, I believe this is designed to be a model prayer. We are shown this prayer to be an ensample/example for us. God answered Moses by putting some of his Spirit on 70 elders of Israel. God also promises abundant meat for the people. (Numbers 11:31-34)
  17. The word used in the Bible instead of "rapture" is "caught up together" (1 Thess.4:16-17) The resurrection will take place when Jesus appeared on the clouds and the angels sound the trumpet. In relation to judgment all the dead will be judged according to what they had done. All the righteous will rise to glory to receive their reward.
  18. (Revelation 5:5) The Lamb is called "the Lion of the tribe of Judah" and "the Root of David" because the Lamb is the fulfillment of the prophecy of Jacob to his son Judah. Jesus is the offshoot of the tribe of Judah and has triumphed over death. These titles signified his victory over death when he stripped him of all power and authority.
  19. Christians should look forward to the events surrounding our resurrection because resurrection is the sign of victory and glory. Death is not the end. Death does not have the last word. The reason Christians have largely lost this as their active expectation and hope is that in the exception of Easter you hardly hear teachings on the resurrection. What should be done to reclaim these truths is to hear more teachings done on the topic of the resurrection.
