  1. The way we treat others is the way we will/are treated by others. When we grow in favor with men; we are received as a pleasure and a benefit to the other person. The same is true with God. We were made for his pleasure, to worship and obey him. When we do these two things we please God.
  2. God's grace is what enables us to go through and/or stand in difficult times. It is also a blessing to have the Grace of God. I know from personal experience that if I had not had the Grace of God upon me I would not have made it through one of the most difficult times in my life, but God's grace is sufficent. THe same grace enabled Jesus at that time to obey and do the will of His Father God.
  3. Jesus being twelve at the time was at the age of accountability or coming of age if you prefer. He was setting the standard for all following generations to come in being obedient to ones father and mother. Colonsians 3:20 states "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord." 1 Samuel 7:3 states " Prepare your hearts unto the Lord and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the land of the Philistines". In comparison to the scriptures we too dwell among the Philistines (The unsaved ) of this world. We are to be obiedient and quick to repent if we should falter. We are the children of God and we were made to serve him daily, we can have no inner peace without serving and obeying him.
  4. I believe that he was in the templ to learn the ways of his people, and to see their relationship with each other through the scriptures. Jesus being a man himself in the flesh was sitting among his peers in the flesh. It was necesssary for him to be obedient to The Father and to submit to the authority of his peers was necessary for the fulfillment of the scriptures.
  5. I do not think that Jesus was careless. He said he was about his fathers business, and that is exactly what he was doing. It was an appointed time and place and part of the fulfillment of the scriptures.
  6. This is a very challenging question. Jesus being God in the fleah would not need to grow in wisdom. As the scripture says he was reaching puberty, and doing the will of his Father he did sit with the elders and conformed to their understanding so that he might teach or conform them to the ways of the Father.
