Q5. Now that you're finished with James: Practical Christianity, what did you get out of this study? How would you evaluate the study? What can be improved? I have been further enlightened and awaken to the truth in GODs word. I felt encouraged to share other views from around the world. There is no way to live a practical christian life than when one is actually given the opportunity by the standard Jesus had set through his word. Q1. (4:13-16) What danger is James warning us about in verses 13-16? How can we be humble in our planning without being indecisive and wishy-washy? James in this chapter wants us to know that we must acknowledge the LORDSHIP of GOD over our lives. Untill some years ago i had been a victim of this situation thinking it was my intelligence, smartness and connections as a systems analyst and a christian. I got REBUKED by the LORD. All my analyses and designs did not make sense anymore to my clients and superiors. I began to pray and I was asked one question that,"If the donkey Jesus rode on decided togo around town boasting and bragging,branding itself as the most important among all. Deciding to move between towns to show itself? But it retired immediately after that KINGLY ride''. I sat up In chapter 4:13 i realised again that satan spoke in this manner when he tempted JESUS. He said "You do this and I will give you , I will....., I will.......". He doesn't acknowlegde the LORDSHIP of GOD, he feels hes always ontop and in control. He doesn't put his trust in the LORD but leans on his own understanding. I realised this by his grace, that satan does not have and cannot manifest the FRUIT of the spirit so there was no way he could humble himself. As such i decided not tobe counted among his hordes. My life begun taking a new shape. For the LORD to say he knew me before i was formed in my mothers womd according to PSALM 139, then it means he has the blue print of my life. So i begun going to him with joy committing all my ways and plans to him. Once its come up for discussion again, I'll certainly take the opportunity to reflect more on his word. The LORD is good

1. Why does James discourage people from aspiring to be teachers of the Word? James is sounding a note of caution here because he had come to realization of the important role teachers play GODs house. Been a teacher of the word is not a title for decoration but a tool for transformation in the hands of the LORD. We certainly have tobe in the know before assuming the title TEACHER OF THE WORD. The Bible tells us clearly the position of GOD on his people that, judgement will begin from the church. Since we are all suppose to be teachers of the word also according to Heb. 5:11- , we have greater responsilbility to exhibit that ''CHRISTLIKE'' character and attitude as the master(JESUS) did. The disciples and many others addressed him as teacher whenever they sought clarification on a subject. His life style wherever he was always reflected what he taught and lived. Since Jesus is our role model then we have a greater responsibility to conform to his lifestyle. We have this as a check on strictness as teachers by practising the things todo with the word of GOD as in Joshua 1:8. The word of GOD clearly outlines who and what a pastor must belike and do. If my pastor doesn't live upto this, which is the standard the LORD has set, then I will go on my knees interceeding for him because he at this point is deputising as one that oversees the congregation of the LORD and bearing in mind that i can also be called on at anytime as a head(pastor) in charge of a department. Will i now be looking forward to living upright? NO!. So it meanse as high standards as i set for my pastor, the greater i must strive to catch and keep up with him for the LORD is coming for a church. Stay Blessed
