  1. God tells Gideon, "I will be with you (in strength), and you will strike down all the Midianites together." I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Lord, show me what you would have me do. Kats
  2. God saw Gideon as a warrior.... a "mighty warrior" with alot of strength. Gideon states that his clan is the weakest, and he is also the weakest in the eyes of his family. He has a very low opinion of himself and low self-esteem. He forgets that with God by his side, he can do whatever God wants him to do. I can do all things through Christ who strenthens me. Kats
  3. The reason for the Israelites present state was that they worshipped the gods of the Amorites. What happened was they broke the second commandment handed down from Moses, "I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no other gods before me." This is the commandment they didn't listen to.... or had at least forgotten. Kats
  4. Gideon is blaming God for his people's problems. He says that God has abondoned them, failing to recognize the fact that they have abandoned God by worshipping other gods. We hear similar words even today.... "how could God let this happen?" We are all responsible for our own actions, and must not blame God or others for the consequences. Kats
  5. Hi everyone! My name is Kathleen, but I'm better known to my friends as Kats. I hail from a small town in Ohio, just east of Columbus. I have been a library cataloger for the last 28 years. I am also an Episcopalian. I believe in angels and the power of positive thinking. This is my first online Bible study.
