  1. Q1. (Joshua 5:13-15) Why did the Commander say he was on neither side? What is the significance of this? What did Joshua feel like during this encounter? How did he feel after this encounter? Okay..first off..The Commander answered "Neither" for each side had it's own agenda. He had no part of the agenda of man. It's significant in that His way is perfect not to be contorted by man's agenda or motives. I'm sure at first Joshua was a bit pensive at seeing a man with a sword drawn. He reacted accordingly. Afterward, he realized where he needed to be, in line with God's plan.
  2. Q4. Meditate on the titles "King of Glory" (Psalm 24:7-10) and "Father of glory" (Ephesians 1:17). What do they tell us about God? How should they affect our attitudes as we worship God? According to 2 Corinthians 3:18, how does God's glory come to fill our lives? I believe these titles reveal that there is no glory except that which comes from God Himself. He originates it, bestows it, is it. I think that we can ask God to show us His glory during worship and He will reveal a part of Himself to us. Glory is who He is, what He is. According the 2 Corinthians 3:18, God's glory fills our lives as we fill our spirits and minds with the Word. Jesus said that "Anyone who has seen me, has seen the Father (John 14:9)." Jesus was the Word made flesh...therefore if we see Jesus, then we see the glory of God plainly.
  3. Q3. Meditate on the phrase "High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy...." (Isaiah 57:15, RSV). What do you learn about God from this phrase? How should this affect your outlook on life, your way of conducting yourself? High and Lofty One - He sits on the throne of Glory and of heaven, watching over each and everyone of His children. Whose name is Holy - He is pure...His love is pure and His judgments are pure. There is no shadow of turning in Him. The outlook should be that everything is in His hands. I should let go and allow Him to be God. The conduct should be as one called out and separated and called as His. Nothing I do should betray or bring an insult to My God.
  4. I believe they both believed that God is God of all things and that He provides all things. That if we honor Him, He in turn honors us.
  5. I actually posted my intro in the wrong forum....silly me. My name is Shelly. I live in Pearl, MS. A stay at home mom of two toddler boys, ages 2 and 4. I am currently volunteering at Trinity Gospel Fellowship in Richland, MS as Director of Women's Ministries. I do not see myself as a leader or a public speaker, but God obviously does. I am so excited about this study. God spoke directly to me during worship on Sunday morning. He told me he wanted me to know him by name. Part of what He said was this, "I want you to know Me by name as I know you by name. Call Me by name and I will answer, call Me by name and I will hear. My name is sufficient for all your need. Just call upon me by Name." It was awesome!
  6. Most High - there isn't anyone or anything else. It is an all encompassing term. To call God this is to place God in His proper place in our lives. Calling Him MOST HIGH is to relinquish all of our feeble attempts to be perfect and allow to perfect Himself in us. It is to give up our rights, agendas, motives, ideals, preconceived notions and to accept His perfect will for us. The act of calling Him MOST HIGH is in itself worship. Acknowledging Him as such sets the stage for a true, intimate, and deep worship. It is the acknowledgment that without Him, you cannot even breath.
  7. Hi everyone! My name is Shelly. I live in Pearl, Mississippi. I'm a stay-at-home mom of two toddler boys, ages 4 and 2. I am currently volunteering at Trinity Gospel Fellowship in Richland, MS as Director of Women's Ministries. It is so much fun. I am not by any means a public speaker or leader, at least in my eyes, but this is where God led me. I'm so excited about this study because God spoke directly to me one Sunday morning during praise and worship. He told me to know Him by name. So I searched the internet for a study on the Names of God and found this one. I know God has something for me that will blow my mind and I can't wait!
