  1. Yes it was a demonstration of his trust and faith in God. God is looking for prayers rendered from the heart in humility and obedience to his word.
  2. Persistence is critical in prayers because it shows God we are determined Jacob wrestled with God inthe place of prayer and he got a breakthrough.
  3. The bible talks about a group of people who worship God with their lips but not their hearts. We should not be like them. We must call God those beautiful names He loves to hear.
  4. The bridge we need to travel to receive forgiveness is the same brige others we ought to give forgiveness will travel if we burn those bridges by refusing to offer forgiveness then we ourselves can not receive forgiveness
  5. We must be independent of people because God is more than able to supply all our needs. The requirement for daily bread is similar to the way God gives us a fresh dose of His mercies every day. God requires our attention even more than on a daily basis
  6. We ask that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven: That even as the angels worship God in heaven so should our worship be to God on earth, This should affect our lives by us living lives that approximate to that type the angels live in heaven
  7. The spiritual controls the physcal.Unless the spiritual is regenerated, the physical remains in a state of darkness. The untamed tongue is symbolic of an unregenerated mind. With Christ comes renewal.
  8. The calling to become teachers is one of serious responsibility. Teachers are often seen as standards or role models and are therefore judged more sternly. Pastors command very great influence and should therefore be held to higher standards.
  9. Works by itself will not bring salvation. But the works together with faih is required to sustain the salvation.
  10. The demons of course acknowledge there is God . They respect the power of God. They even go to church ,but all for the wrong reasons. A practising christian desires to do the will of God. While a non -practising Christian offers lip service. And serves God, not with conviction but just in case God is real.
  11. Faith is dead if not followed by action .Even in the process of creation , God himself saw the darkness that enveloped the earth. He took action by decreeing that there be light. In Deut 2:31, God says " I have begun to give begin to possess". We must back our faith with action. We can make our faith alive by "hope' An athlete's hope for victory makes him stick to a gruelling exercise regimen.
  12. The bible is clear about the fact that the poor and needy will always exist among us .Our responsibility to them is to remember the example set for us by Jesus christ . His first miracle was turning water in to wine to meet the needs of the couple at the wedding and ever since that miracle , every where he went he turned peoples' poverty to prosperity. As for those outside the church our responsibility is to introduce them to the one who can speak all things to being and thereafter everything else shall be added.
  13. God is the ultimate judge. That is the first point. And God is just. When we show favouritism for whatever reason we have becme unjust.
  14. All too often we have tended to favour the men and women of 'means' in our churches preferring to refer to them as 'Big fish' . But in God's basket there is no big fish. I have since discovered that those that God will use for His purposes are not stereotyped. Gold must go through a process of refinnng before its value becomes manifest. Everything that God created is good. The wise soul winner according to the book of Daniel will be the one who has many stars shinning for him in heaven. The bible does not refer to the size of the stars but their number.
  15. It is best to see the church as a'body'. The body needs to have nutrition , the work of the pastor is to provide a balanced diet and at the right time. The pastor also has the responsibility of prunning and preening the body. The pastor does not have to know every member ,but God has a way of making known to the pastor those he wants to use for his purposes.
