  1. We have been crucified when we received Christ into our life. We died to our old way of life & became a new creation in Christ. I no longer want to do what I used to do before I was a Christian. Christ life should motivate us now. We died to our old self when we accepted Christ as our Savior. He gave his life for me because of his great love for me. I am a worthy person because He died for me.
  2. The sacrifice is of no value if we can work our way to heaven. It is the core of the Christian faith that Christ died for our sins so that we can live with him in heaven. The Catholic Church had become corupted & was trying to work to get to heaven. So that we will not be corupted thinking that we can get to heaven by our own works. We need to lessen the legalism as much as humanly possible because their is only one way to get to heaven.
  3. Because the only culture we know is our own. The crusades & the Spanish Inquestion anyother early missionary work. Turning people away from the true God & pushing them to their old beliefs. Learn the culture that you are trying to convert & find a way to teach the gospel without destroy their culture.
  4. Paul probably tried to talk to him privately but Peter wasn't listening to him & the situation was getting worse instead of better. Yes he was probably using the policy of what Jesus said to do to solve the problem of the church. They would see that Peter wasn't above getting scolded when he was wrong. No one is so high up that he is unquestionable. The Gentile would be encouraged to know that they were just as important as the Jewish Christians. Paul was considered a traitor to the Christian because of his previous life. Paul thought of himself as abnormally born.
  5. Please disregard previous post I goofed. I am dyslexic so sometimes I miss important parts of questions like the name of the apostle in question. Peter wanted to welcome the new believer at Antioch. He was trying to be hospitable to all the new Christians. He withdrew because of peer pressure put on by Judizers. He is a flawed human being. He received the vision at Cornilus's house about everything that God says is clean no one can make unclean. Barnabas was just following Peter's lead because of Peter's leadership skills. They would have been people that had a high status in the Jewish Community or Peter would have come to his senses earlier. Everyone has acted like a hypocrite at one time or another. Stay in God's Word everyday so that you will know the truth when you see it.
  6. They were the people Paul was suppose to minister to according to God's plan however human wisdom took over when the Judizers came to town. He is a flawed human being. God had to strike Paul blind before he listen to him & told him that everyone belonged to God. Barnabas was just following Paul who taught him about God. They must have been pretty high up in the Jewish Community or Paul would have stood up to them more likely. Everyone has acted like a hypocrite at one point in their life. Keep rooted in God Word everyday so that you will see what the truth is even if it hurts.
  7. At the time he wasn't sure who he could trust because their had been some false teachers that had come to spy on the new church. He discovered that the leaders were true believers so he was sure that his message was in the right hands. He gave approval of the counsel for the church so that they would be confident in their leadership.
  8. Because even the church leaders in Jerusalem hadn't required the uncircumised Titus to become circumised but allowed him to promote the gospel of Christ it was okay for the rest of the church also.
  9. He was someone who was taught the Jewish law by the best teacher of the day. His conversion was unique in the fact that it was a direct encounter with the risen Christ so that he had a direct revelation so that he would be able to provide convincing prove of his knowledge. He was told to go to the Gentiles & was given a heart & the ability to teach them on their level. I believe that God uses every experence that occurs in my life so that I can encourage or help someone somewhere that I will meet even if I haven't met them yet. Any trial I go through is for a specific reason that only God knows. I know it is God's plan to use me with all my quirks & even my learning disabilty (dyslexia) However I even work in a library & I love to read go figure. Take care people Love ya.
  10. The source of Paul's gospel is the revelation that Paul received from God. It jives with the rest of the revelation from other sources in the Old Testament & the teaching of the other apostles. It completely conforms to our foundational sources. We could be led astray by false teaching by someone that is a smooth talker.
  11. It is dangerous because they were believing that works were neccessary for salvation. We could get the wrong impression of what needs to be done to be saved. Christian could get a perverted idea that what is important in their life.
  12. Christ gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the evil present age, according to the will of our God and Father. Jesus rescues people today through the Holy Spirit who nudges or sometimes gives a push if we don't listen. He uses us and his Word to rescue the lost. He stops people from falling back into their old ways by using the Holy Spirit to disciple believers first gently but he will become more forceful as we keep doing what we are not suppose to do. It is always better listen to his gentle voice instead of waiting for the punishment that will take place if we keep sinning.
  13. Hi everybody, I am from the great state of Pennsyvania in the great city of Pittsburgh and I am very excited to be studying Galatians. I enjoy Paul & can't wait to find out what he to teach me.
  14. We are meant to be in union with a church body so that we can grow spiritually & become mature Christians. We should be able to see the spirit of God working & moving in our churches. People that are immature that are in leadership. To be a leader in a Church you should be a mature or taking steps to be a mature Christian. You should have a personal relationship with God. Keep growing in faith & in the personal relationship with God. God will show you what needs to be done.
  15. We are able to come into the presence of God with confidence knowing we can ask anything in Christ's name & He will do it. The Holy Spirit allows us to groan our question to the Father. He is our interpretor so that we can understand what God is saying & what we are saying to God. Jesus Christ is our go between & the reason we have access to God at all.
