The reasoning behind Israel's oppressed state is that they were told to not worship the gods of the Amorites, and yet, the people did not listen. This is dangerous to us as Christians because when we pray and worship to other gods other than the one true God, we may get false messages that may lead us further and further into the land of sin.

It seems to me that Gideon blames God for his actions for fear of blaming himself. To us, it's dangerous, because it shows that we can not become humble in our actions and so we blame the next individual.

As far as I understand, the only being that can prepare us is the one that really understands God. Christ is that such being. The book of Revelation is telling us what will happen, and we, as mortals, are supposed to decipher the message and try to get the word out to others before it actually happens.

Hi, my name is Chance (ignoring my screen name...). I have been a Christian for about 4 years and I really enjoy the benefits. Although I am proud to be a Christian, I haven't been to church regularly or even participated in some sort of a Bible study. This is my first and I hope to learn a lot.
