Someone responded that perhaps God directed Abraham to 'go after' Lot. Maybe it was his own idea, I sure believe that he talked to God about it all. Regardless, he certainly had to have a lot of courage to take on 4 armies. Additionally, he weighted his obligation to Lot over and above his own well-being and the well-being of the 314 and the family dependent upon him. In today's world, do we know anybody who would choose the course of action that Abraham took? I agree with the person who suggested that God must have told Abraham to go.
