By hearing the Word, faith is birthed. We become born again.The Word should underpin our daily walk with God. It should be a treasure store of resources to us in dealing with any and all situations in our Christian lives.

My name is James and I live in England. This is my first on-line Bible Study. I will be 42 in 12 days time. I am married to a Christian wife and have 3 children (all boys). One of whom has been saved. I am looking forward to meeting with like minded people. I have suffered in the past from trying to live in the world and for God, and of course, you can't do this. May the Lord bless us all greatly as we study together his word, which is indeed a source of light in a dark world.

They focus our minds on God alone. They help us to grow in faith by increasing our dependence on the Lord. When we see the Lord act then our faith can only be increased.

The promise is Wisdom, which the Lord will give to us if we ask in faith and with real commitment. Trials help us to identify where we most need the Lord's help. Trials isolate issues.

They cure us by focussing the mind wonderfully as I have recently found out, on the things of God, and what needs to be repented of in our lives. Thanks be to God. Trials build up our faith in the Lord.

Pride! Easier to blame everthing and everyone else that look at ourselves. God doesn't temp anyone to sin. We sin because we have evil hearts. evil exists I think to allow God opportunities to display his mercy and grace.

I have recently had a major trial in my life. It showed me that I need to always remain close to the Lord as I nearly did let Satan destroy me. God did and is continuing to refine me as a result of the situation I found myself in. How have I changed? I would say that I am only now a Christian. Before I was not really saved.
