  1. Ephesians 1:4-5) What is scary about predestination? What is comforting? Why does Paul bring up predestination? Why do you think he praising God for it in the "hearing" of the Ephesians? Every since I first heard about predestiny in Romans it has been a mystery to me. I have tried to obtain the best understanding that I could relating to predestiny. My question was; if God has already chosen my destiny then, I don't quite understand the free will, the works, the witnessing but I do know that I love Jesus. What is comforting to know is that God has allowed me to be apart of his family, to have the chance to get to know him better, to have the chance to be able to be with him soon. Also, too add that before Jesus we where lost souls. Because of God's loving kindness he gave his son to redeem me and that allowed me another chance to get my life in order to be in the family of God. It still comes back to the free will, we have to mindful of how we conduct ourselves:D
  2. It means to have a loving spirit. To focus on your prayer life, keeping the lines of communication open to God, forgiving and to be mindful of the things we do and say. To take care of one another, to witness and bring others to Christ. To trust and rely on God. To love and have no doubt in Jesus with your whole heart. To remember that your body is God temple. Strive hard to stay away from others that are blatantly defiant unto God.
  3. We should continually ask God for forgiveness due to sins we commit daily and ackowledge our faults and repent. Unforgiveness blocks blessing because God has forgiven us for so much wrong and if he can forgive us and love us we are expected to do the same. Joyce
  4. I believe that pride stops us for asking for others help. I think that we seek independence from God because we have not come to the realization that God provides for us and that we feel we are totally responsible for everything we receive in life (basically a lack of faith or disbelief). If we ask God for our daily bread we are trusting, believing and relying on God to take care of our needs (having true faith in God).
  5. Acknowledgement, believing and preparing for Jesus's return.
  6. I think that basically we use God's name in vain, in relations to disrepect (in other words we speak and do not think about how we sully his name just for random conversation) instead of meditating on the power of God and who he is, the holiness, reverence and the respect that is due to God.
  7. Hi my name is Joyce, I am try to learn what God has for me by exploring other options by way of study and prayer. I am in Houston, Texas
