  1. When i am passive about God's will in my life, because i can Know that "all things wrk etc"i tend to leave that thot alone...and go to the next...yet when i ask myself"how's that workin for ya?" and think back to the time when i was very aware of our Lord's presence in my life...moment by moment..this is where i'd like to stay..constantly aware of His nearness and His will being reflected in my inner most being..for years this was my almost constant awareness of Him with me...all the time... i sure miss this...and have been praying heartfelt prayers for a return to this...i realize that apart from Him i can do nothing..He knows what i need..and i'm waiting ready, i think," to go..ready to stay..ready my place to fill, ready for service lowly or great, ready to do His will"
  2. "search me o God..and know my thots today,..." i played the melody on that old piano as i remembered the hawai'n song and thought of the swayin palms... "see if there be some wicked way in me...cleanse me from evry sin and set me free"..she looked very uncomfortable as the drinks and the crowd got wilder....and she said "i blv that's Methodist"...i didn't realize what the words were..or that it was a hymn... there are times the Lord speaks to our heart in very tangible ways...even in a crowd...reminders that He knows and cares and that we cannot hide no matter how hard we might try...it started with Adam..and has continued throughout all of our destiny's...i'm so glad He'll never leave us or forsake us..and that He holds each of us in the hollow of His hand... have thine own way Lord...
  3. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and hast laid thine hand upon me..Psm 139:5 the Lord knows everything in our past... everything in our future.... and He is in charge of it all...even now.. (many yrs ago this thot was shared by a wise teaching pastor...its words seem to ring true today..) even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.. Psm 139:10 i am so glad this is also true today..."while the blossoms still bloom on the vine!" the pastor's name was Hagstrom.. he's the one who asked: "have you ever dedicated your imagination to the Lord? you know, thoughts developed in the darkroom of imagination soon become pictures..on the walls of memory...
  4. did hezekiah really want God's will in his life? God had told him "set your house in order..u shall die..not live..."so hezekiah was upset..and cried...and prayed and argued.. strenuously...and the Lord relented..and gave him 15 more yrs...i remember reading a commentary that talked about what happened in those 15 yrs..and if he'd listened..and done God's will... do we really want God's best for us? do we argue..and moan and groan and cry? are we willing to listen? or do we have our own special agenda? ed
  5. Hezekiah received the letter..and read it...and went into the house of the Lord..and spread it before the Lord..and Hezekiah prayed... and as we rcv our today msgs and the threatening letters and emotionally charged termination letters and others that threaten our current way of life, the Lord is eager to help and solve our problms as we turn it over to Him..our heavenly father stands ready to to take our burdens that we bring to Him in faith... He stands ready and willing to hear every concern of our heart..i can hear his invitation "come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"Matt 11:28-30 ed
  6. "Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power.and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and the earth is thine: thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all." "Majesty...worship His majesty..unto Jesus be all honor power and praise....so exalt lift up the name of Jesus" when the words... or the tune of this song is played..or remembered..it raises my spirit to exaltation... "all praise to Jesus...all praise Emanuel...King of King Lord of Lords almighty King..and through all eternity we want to praise Him..we will praise our Lord throughout eternity!"
  7. there usta be a song called "try a little tenderness"..that's what i thot of..in an impersonal world when no one seems to care...it helps to find some one sympathetic..a nurturer..bec i am that way...i'm often looked upon as a "good listener"...and tend to be available...not to be so full of my own self, that i don't have room fr the cares and prayers of others...Because He cares for me...and you! ed
  8. Jesus said: "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God" It is, I believe, from the Lord's perspective that a pure heart is recognized..we long for love and purity..perhaps it is like a longing for humility...just when we think we have it, we've lost it..perhaps we should live our life, honest before God, that others may see our good works, and glorify our Father who is in heaven.Yet, no matter how others see us, our Lord knows, and that's what matters, and He will give us the desires of our heart. ed
  9. When one gets to know who the Lord is.. where He comes from and what He has done..and will do..then the assurance of His forgiveness, cleansing, and preparation comes...that's the solid realization..and the comforting...rock-solid truth that provides a place of comfort in a very shaky world! aren't you glad?
  10. the people wanted fellowship and worship..and like many groups today began to do just that..they leaned to their own imagination and had some real "fellowship" we're reminded in Prov 3:5,6 to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding..in all our ways acknowledge Him..and He will direct our path..we need intercession and God's word to remind us of the Lord's provision..as moses did..and we need Him directing our path. ed
  11. The attitude of our heart is what our Lord sees..and it is always recognized in our loving petitions..our ideal to do unto others as we would have them do...is our daily privilege to become a reflection of His way, and His words..and we are given this assurance as we do... this be-attitude becomes very personal as we "do" His will...and seems to multiply as we allow Him His way in our lives..and multiplies reflections with others...on the way ed
  12. the media has allowed all sorts of people to impudently ask why God allows all these situations to occur in our world..He rules over the affairs of man... someday, He will not allow Anything to come..unless it is from His hand... now, we have an adversary and God allows him rope...but only till then...now we pray: Thy will be done...one day it will! ed
