  1. Killing amimals is repulsive to some since they equate it in their minds to killing their pets, I think. I remember the story Nathan told David about the pet lamb and saying, "Thou art the man." Jesus was God's pet, so to speak, and he was sacrificed for us. I'm glad he was, but sad that was the only way for us to receive salvation.
  2. Anger at sin is appropriate because it takes into account the true and awful consequences of that sin. I think some of the saddest words in the Bible are God's words to Eve in the garden, "What is it that you have done?" All the woes to come in the world are in that question. Thank God for the Lamb!
  3. God was to always be Israel's king; Joshua understood this. Oh, that I would make hin king of my life! I think people want to have human heroes.....i.e. our making over sports players, Hollywood's people, etc. To choose somone other than God is treason, a betrayal. It is adultry!
  4. God saw Gideon as he was, a believer in Him. I read somewhere that when God looks at us, He doesn't see us as we appear in this earthly body, but in our glorified state in Jesus. How reassuring, huh?
  5. They started going after other gods and terrible things happened to them as a result. When we start doing the same, then 'terrible' things start happening to us; often, like the Israelites, we start complaining and asking, "Where is God?" I pray to start being more open to the leadership of the Holy Spirit when this happens to me.
  6. Hello, I'm Connie from Arkansas. Yes, Arkansas is a part of the USA! Just kidding. I am an old lady as of the 12th...56 years old. I can't believe it myself. I was raised a Missionary Baptist; my deceased daddy was a minister. He passed away April 2001. I miss him terribly; we were best 'buds'. I have two grown sons, three granddaughters, a husband of forty years this November. I am a schoolteacher, had to take this semester off due to MS. I will be on teacher disability as of June 1st, 2003. I loved all twenty-five years of teaching and will miss it. I am a Christian, love the Lord, don't serve Him as I ought, and am eager to do this Bible study and meet all of you.
