I do believe Father God was pleased with his son, and why He was petitioning Him. Yet! Jesus knew what the will of God was for Him. We tend not to own up to our responsibility, our preference is to pass the buck, or avoid the issue all together. Yet in the deepest part of ours heart we know, we understand our responsibilities and what we need to do. To walk with the Lord will cost us, to live for Him will cost us, and to do His will; will cost us. We gladly pay the price, because we all know the ultimate reward.

I can only imagine the weight that was upon Jesus shoulders, the fear of being separated from His father. My reaction would be to lay down my burden instead of separation from my father. Ultimately, Jesus knew that the will of God was to save mankind, to redeem them. Wow! Billions upon billions of people, the weight of their sin upon His shoulders, this is unthinkable. We pray Lord we have a need, worry, and fear probably once. There is something to be said about pounding on heavens door until God hears and answers. Jesus knew what he had to do, and the cup the Father had given him to drink. I would ask my father, are you sure you want me to do this? Even though I knew the answer to my own question.

That His disciples would not fall into temptation, Jesus knew they would be tested in their faith, temptation is a fact of life and there's no way of evading it. As long as the devil has control of secular music, ***********, Hollywood; our eyes, ears and senses will be bombarded. Even though temptation is a fact of life, it is my prayer every day for the covering of the Blood of Jesus and Psalm 91. Nehemiah is reminding God of His promises which he gave to his servant Moses from Deuteronomy 30:1-3 If Israel would obey the commands of the Lord, what He would do for them, however, If they chose to disobey Gods command then God would scatter them. He begins to empty himself out through prayer and fasting to remove any issues in his heart and mind over those who are contending against the command God has given him

Daniel

Daniel takes ownership in the sins of Israel, he is apart of Israel, he is a servant. He feels the grief and is overwhelmed with the burden what has taken place present and past. The difference between Daniel and Jesus: Jesus bore the sins of all mankind upon his shoulders, where as for Daniel a prophet carries the burden for man, he stands in the gap, between man and God understanding he has to do the will of the Lord, yet he understands the weakness, and the inability of man to carry those burdens.

Daniel set his face toward the Lord, postured his heart in deliberate humility and supplication through fasting and repentance. Seeking, requiring by pounding on heavens door on behalf of the sins of Israel. Daniel prayed continually until he received and answer. I identify with Daniels approach, because I move toward intercession in a similar fashion. I identify what the Lord wants me to intercede about/for. I worship in order to establish an atmosphere; I then take communion before I pray. I pray until the Holy Spirit discloses to me the answer I am seeking.
