  1. If we, in humility will ask God for wisdom, He will generously give it--we must be willing to hear and have a heart bent towards God's will. Trials teach us the frailty of ourselves and the need of God, who always desires our best.
  2. I believe the cure for doublemindedness would be total surrender--of the sin--of our will. Surrender, submission to God; repentance. Growth teaches dependence on God and not ourselves. Being doubleminded is a struggle, in that we know what God desires and in these fraile human bodies, we struggle to release control of our own lives totally to Him; maybe it's pride, maybe fear is the issue, and maybe it's patience--or should I say impatience.... Whatever the issue is for each of us individually, when we fail the test in seeking His will first, we have the assurance that when we go before Him in sincere humility, with confession of our sin, He is just and righteous to forgive us. Praise Him for His love and faithfulness to forgive our weaknesses.
  3. People appearently don't want to own their self made problems and have a need to blame someone--God being their scapegoat. God gives us all a free will to choose our path in life; some prefer the sinful path--the way of enticement. The reason God allows evil, I believe, is best known by God alone, not by the intellect of man. We all need to examine ourselves.
  4. The value of trials in my own life has been in that it has been a time of growth and increased faith and trust in God. This is not to say, I am some sort of spiritual giant because I am not. I have struggled more often than I care to admit when facing trials, but still, I know it's better to face these times with God than "out on my own." God forbid satan ever to have victory over me! The changes are a "process"--and those changes are from daily seeking God and His will (not my own) in any given situation. I love Him and am so thankful I do not have to face any difficulty alone.
  5. The Book of James was the first book of the Bible that I considered to be my favorite; truly, it is the most practical. My name is Theresa and I live in Ohio with my two "babies", Callie and Bandit , ok, they are cats--but they are my babies. I look forward to this new study with great excitement!
