  1. Q1. (Matthew 5:3-11) Each Beatitude consists of two parts. What are these parts? Why do you think Jesus made each Beatitude a paradox? What is the relationship of the Beatitudes to the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)? Each Beatitude consists of a blessing and a reward for that blessing. Jesus wants people to understand that being rich in earthly terms is not rich in spiritual terms. He wants our love and our faith. He wants us to come to Him with our problems, our wishes, and our desires. The Fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 are those qualities that are not measured in terms of earthly wealth. They are the qualities that Christians should show on earth towards themselves and others.
  2. Hi. I am Bonnie Nelson and I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I teach computer classes for adults, and love to spend time reading the Bible and studying it. I just praise the Lord for his love and mercies. I am looking forward to reading the responses from this study.
  3. What does it mean to you to be "in Christ"? What are the implication of this for your life? To be in Christ is to be like him. We must remember that HE wants an intimate relationship with him (Ps. 63:3). He wants us to just talk to him about everything that comes upon us--HE want us to "BE" with him day in and day out. Because he made us in HIS image, we have all within us to have that close intimate relationship with HIM. The implication are awesome when you think about it. If we learn to trust and lean on HIM for everything HE will always supply our needs. And just when we think things are getting better, something happens, and HE teaches us to lean on HIM more. I Cor. 13:4 also allows me to think about being "in HIM". Love is patient, love is kind, etc. This is the God I believe in.....but I also understand that HE will chastise me "in love" when I am not doing HIS will.
