  1. Q4 a. Without repentance we cannot be forgiven. If we cannot be forgiven we cannot come before the Holy Father who is in His Kingdom. b. Baptism is an outward public picture of what has taken place in our heart. It is a picture of the burial of our old life and our commitment to Jesus Christ our Savior to walk in the new life he has given us. c. Christ cannot reign in our heart is we are unrepentant. If we are unrepentant we are at war with and against God.
  2. Q3 a. The point was John did not want glory for himself but to point to the one who was glory. b. In a temporary manner, John was washing away the cover that hides sin in the heart and mind so that the Holy Spirit can bring repentance and Jesus will wash away sin for eternity. c. The more we are overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit the more we are in obedience to God and the more in Jesus likeness we become. d. As long as man walks the earth there will be times in his life that he just has to be in control. If we are in control, there is no yielding to the Holy Spirit and less desire to give him control. However, the Holy Spirit continues to wrestle with our conscience, we can repent and allow Him to lead and guide us. Knowing that the Father never gives up on His children should give us great encouragement that the Holy Spirit is at the ready to bring us back into the presence of the Father.
  3. Q2 a. Jews relied on their ancestral connection to Abraham to save them; John
  4. Q1 a. There is no outward evidence in thought, action, or life style to indicate a change within, i.e. no repentance, no change in direction of action. 2 Cor. 7:11 b. The main reason is we do not want to admit we have sinned and are guilty of any thing. We have built our outward life to make all that see us as wonderful, outstanding people. We glory in the adoration by our peers and the persona we have created. c. 50%, most of the time; the other 50%, sometimes. We are not perfect, yet, and because of that, pride creeps in when we lest expect it.
  5. Hi everyone! I'm Jeff, from Ft. Worth, TX I am a husband to the greatest woman on Earth for 42years. I have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren. I love the Lord and rejoice in sharing my Savior with those who do not know Him. I am looking forward to this study and learning as well as sharing with others. Thank you Pastor Ralph.
