  1. Q2. (2 Corinthians 1:9-10) How does facing a harrowing crisis help us grow in the Lord? How has a crisis helped your spiritual life? What is the value of learning not to rely on ourselves? What does this do to our pride? How does this improve our effectiveness as God’s servants? Facing any crsis alone is almost always harrowing. Facing it with God makes all the difference in the world. I've tried it both ways and, believe me, with God I can face anything. Each time I deal with a crisis or issue with God guiding me I do so with a peace of knowing that, whatever the results, I will be a stronger person and that God's will is in the results. In the process I find greater humility, greater patience, greater comfort, and a much greater knowledge that the Holy Spirit is with me.
  2. Q1. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7) What kind of comfort do you receive from your faith in God? From your personal daily relationship with God? How might you share the blessing of this kind of comfort with a friend or relative who is currently suffering? What words of comfort can you bring to others? My faith in God provides a spiritual peace and mental comfort that I recognize daily regardless of whether there's difficulties or not. I thank God in prayer each day for that peace and comfort knowing how important it has become in my life. In conversations with others my expressions of comfort and peace often become emotional and I believe others recognize their importance in dealing with difficulties in their own lives. I tell others that "God is with you always" and "Pray hard for peace and comfort knowing that it will come."
