  1. Q4. What is the significance of the confession "Jesus is Lord"? Why is this necessary for salvation, according to Romans 10:9? When we confess that Jesus is Lord, we are making it a personal relationship. We are swearing alliegence to Him as our King and chosing to follow Him in all our daily lives. It is necessary for salvation because Jesus is the only name under heaven where by man can be saved,God spoke these words as the Spirit carried along the disciple who utter them. God chose His Son Jesus to be our redeemer from our sin and He is the only God who can and has the power to make that choice for us. It is given to us as a commandment to chose to speak those words found in Romans that Jesus is our Lord and that we believe in our hearts that He died and rose again then we will be saved as the Father God promised.
  2. Q3. What are the implications for governments that Yahweh is the King of kings and Lord of lords? What are the implications of removing God" from a nation's currency and pledges, and ardently secularizing national life? Where does that put a nation with regard to God the King? I pray daily that our leaders will submit to God's calling and leadership. King Solomon ask God for wisdom to lead his people and God rewarded him. It is the duty of our leaders to seek the same wisdom to lead today and put God first in their lives as we do ours. The implications can be seen daily in the way that people treat each other on our highways and work places. The leaders who fall short and allow the removal of God from all areas of life will face a vicious God and be severally punished for their failures. When they fail to put God first in their lives it naturally passes on to their children and the rest of the populace and cause a generation of non-believer's. We must make sure we elect the leaders who have chosen to follow God and know His plan for their lives as well as our nation. When a nation chooses to omit God from their daily lives they are seeking to be lost like Sodom and Gomorrah. They are choosing a path that can only lead to destruction and a falling away as a nation. This can be seen thru out history as nation refuse to seek after God and His righteousness they soon cease to be a nation at all and are over run by some other power greater than they.
  3. Q2. What are the personal implications of Yahweh being your King and of Jesus being the Messiah sent from God? What are the advantages of being the subject of Yahweh as King? What does it mean for you to submit to the King on an everyday basis? How does a person reject Yahweh from being King over him or her? If Yahweh is my King and Jesus is my Messiah then I have an oblagation to follow them no matter what the cost to me. I must obey without question and give them my total loyalty. I must do what they tell me to do and surrender wverything to them because they are my rulers. The advantages are they there is no one with the power of the God of Heaven,Yahweh, and there is no other name under heaven where I can be saved but the name of Jesus my Lord and Saviour. To submit on an every day basis is to do what ever I am called on by the Lord to do and nothing else. He is Lord and King and I should try every day to show obedience to Him and serve Him in everyway that I can. I must try everyday to remembe that He has total control of my life and submit to that control. A person rejects God and Jesus by refusing the gift God gave all of us His Son who died for our sins. If we reject his calling and refuse to accept His offer of salvation then we are denying Him as our Lord and King. I reject God as my King when I refuse to love the christians that he send me as brother and sisters in Christ and even harder when i refuse to love those who aren't kind and loving to me in return. Anytime I refuse to keep God's laws I am denying Him as King.
  4. Q1. Read 1 Samuel 8:15 and Malachi 3:8-10. How did tithing relate to a person's acceptance of God being their King in the Old Testament? How about for those of us who live under the New Covenant? What place does tithing have for us? God is the owner of the cattle on a thousand hills therefore he needed nothing from the people their tithe was for them to show their obedience to his laws and to show that they would keep his commandments. They instead chose to steal from God by disobeying Him and not keeping his laws. We under the new covenant are ask to give ten percent but Paul says that a man should give out of his heart and Jesus told the disciples that the amount was not important when He spoke of the poor widow who gave a penny. We need to give with a pure heart and be glad in the fact that God has blessed us and we are able to give. Tithing should be very important to us be cause it shows our obedience to God and our willingness to give back blessing as God give to us. We are instructed to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things will be added. If we believe that we should be challenged to give to God expecting Him to reward our love for Him.
  5. Q4. Define "justice," "vengeance," and "mercy." Can a Holy and Righteous God justly forgive sins without punishing them? What is the significance of the cross in God's righteousness? Justice:according to the Bible means giving someone what they deserve -- no less, no more. Vengence: is "punishment inflicted in retaliation for an injury or offense. Mercy :not giving someone the punishment they deserve. God cannot and will not let sin go unpunished. He will return to put all the unrepentant to death. We must accept His attoning Sacrifice for our sin or be lost. He charged all our sin to His One And Only Son Jesus so that we would not have to recieve the punishment we rightly deserve. His Mercy and Love for us over came His need for vengence and for that we must give Him the Glory and Honor He deserves and worship Him endlessly Like the Serphim calling out Holy,Holy,Holy is the Lord God Almighty.
  6. Q3. (Psalm 68:5) Since our God is the Helper of the Fatherless and the Protector of Widows -- that is, the poorest and weakest of society -- what does this say about a Christian's commitment to social justice in our communities? How should it affect our actions? Ps 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation That we as Christians should lead the way when it comes to caring for the Fatherless and the Widows and to not be left behine in seeking social justice for all people. We as Christians need to live lives that reflect this commitment to helping the unfortunate
  7. Q2. If we believe that truth and morality are all relative to one's culture, how can we know and understand the Righteous and Upright God? Extra credit for present-day evangelists: How can we declare God and his Son Jesus Christ in a relativistic world? What is an effective approach? (There is no simple answer here. What is an effective communication strategy in your community?) . We must have faith that God is who He says He is and that His word is a devine from Him. People are the same today as in the day of Elisha who when being threatened by Jezebel cried out to God that He was the only prophet left and God answere that Hed had 2000 who had not bowed to baal. God will a lways have people who will have the faith and persaverance to live their lives for Him. We need to always be ready to give a reason for joy in Christ. We must be willing to stand firm in our proclaiming of God word as true and Holy. We must be able to take the yoke that Jesus proclaimed when He told the desciples to go into all the world and proclaim the gospel. We must continue to speak God's word just like He gave it to the prophets and disciples any changes only add to the worlds view and give them more to use against the word of God.There can only be one truth and it must come from a Holy and righteous God In my Church our leader state in the mission statement that the word of God is living and active and that it is true and infallable. We try and teach our brothers and sisters how to live by the word and keep it in our lives for others to see.
  8. Q1. (Isaiah 6:1-8) How does a realization of God's holiness affect Isaiah? Why is Isaiah afraid? How does God make Isaiah holy? What is the symbolism of the coal from the altar? Now made holy -- dedicated to God -- how does Isaiah respond to God? Isaiah was awe struck when he realized that he was in the presence of the All Mighty and the Glory of his presence was frightening because he saw the Seraphim with their eyes covered and knew from the Law that anyone who saw God's face would die. He knew that to be in the presence of God who was Holy made him more ashamed by his sinfulness and the sinfulness of his people. He was made to be Holy in the presence of God by the burning coal burning his sins away. The fire was a symbol from the offering of sacrifices on the alter. Burning the sacrifice move the sins of the people for another year. Isaiah responds the way He should by dedicating his life to service to God. Once purified He was willing to do for God anything that he could to show the people that God could cleanse them to and make them worthy to be in the presence of God and live and to proclaim like the Seraphim that God is Holy,Holy, Holy.
  9. Q4. (Isaiah 40:21-31). In this passage on the "Creator of the ends of the earth," which words are repeated in verses 28-31. What application are we disciples to derive from this passage so that we might understand God's might as Creator? If I understand the question correctly the words that are repeated are Lord, tired, and weary. We need to understand that the Lord, Creator of the worlds did not become weary or tired. He rested on the Seventh day to admire His work for it was good. We if we live in the Lord can become like Him in that we to can run and not tire and walk and not be faint. I believe that this is a promise to the ones who endure the race not as people here on earth. We as humans tire but when we get Home we will never tire of giving God praise for the things He has done in our lives to bring us to Him and then we to will see that is was good.
  10. Q3. (Psalm 95:1-7) How many names, titles, and metaphors of God can you find in this passage, both explicit and implicit? What does the Psalmist call on us to do in response to God revealed in his Names? Why are these actions appropriate? I also see seven, LORD,ROCK OF SALVATION, GREAT GOD,KING, CREATOR, SHEPARD, OWNER OF ALL THINGS. We are to sing praise and make a joyful noise to Him. We are to give Him thanks for all things. We are to know He is above all gods and King above all kings. We are to know that it was He who created all the deep place and in Him is all the strength that we need to live day to day. We are to worship Him,bow before Him, Honor Him aas ou Shepard and Creator. We are to know that He is our God, our personal God, We are His sheep we are to do His will. We are to listen for His voice as He speaks to us out of the quite times and head His message to do His will and not provoke Him. These actions are appropriate because they are deserved by our Lord and King. How could we do less to the creator of our being the Shepard who supplies all our needs. The God who can save us from ourselves when no other can.The Lord who loved us so much that He laid down His own life for us that we may be saved.
  11. Q2. What inherent rights does a Potter, Creator, or Maker have over what he has created? How should that effect our lives, our self-image, our sense of purpose? He has the inherent right to do with it as he wills. He can use it to do good or bad,in our case it is a loving God who created us to bring Him glory and honor and He evne promises to reward us if we do that. He made some for comon and some for noble purposes. It isp to us to allow God to use us as He has planned and in return be blessed. We should never be proud, but humble knowing that as the created we are given a place along side the eternal Father,Creator God if we submit to the calling He has for us. We shoulddo everything that He gives us to do as though it were the most important job there ever was. To serve is to show love. Like David said it's better to be a door keeper in the Kingdom of God for one day than never be there at all.
  12. Q1. (Isaiah 45:9-12) Why is it ridiculous for a pot to second-guess the Potter? How do we Christians do this? What is a better attitude and behavior before our Creator? The pot is the created object and can not see what the maker is making it for or where it fit in the greater scheme of things. That's the way it is with us we so want to be in charge but like Paul state now we see as looking in to a glass darkly. We can't see what is in our future or how we can best be of use to God in His Great Plan. We as Christians think that we know what God expects of us and often others without seeking from Him His direction. We think that as Christians we have a better plan and this is our mistake trying to do for our selves things only God can do. We pray for things that we want noe what is best and in right standing with our Creator and God. We need to remember Matt.6:33 Seek yee first the kingdom of God and His rightousness and all thing will be added. This means things God deems important to us not necessarily what we want for our selves. I often fall short here always wondering why I don't get my way in my time of trial especially and not like I should look to God the Creator th Author and Finisher of my faith.
  13. Q4. (1 Samuel 17:26, 36; Hebrews 10:31) How do you think David's understanding of the Living God enabled him to challenge Goliath? Read Hebrews 10:31 in context. Why should the Living God inspire fear and dread? David knew from experience that God could and would deliver him from harm of his enemies and had confidence that God would give him the strength to over come his adversary. He understood God's love for his people and knew that God would show His great power through David. To me Jesus said all that needs to be said . Fear not him who can harm the body and then nothing more but fear Him who has the power to kill the body and throw the soul into living torment. How can anyone not fear that. To know there is a God who loves us but must judge us should cause fear in anyone living in sin. I know that I fear the thought of facing a judgement without Jesus as my advocate and help.
  14. Q3. (Isaiah 44:6; Revelation 1:8) What does the idea of "first" and "last" tell you about God? How does Revelation 1:8 relate to God's revelation to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM It tells me He always was and always will be that with out Him nothing could exist. He has always been there for His people and always will be. He chose us out of time to place us here at this moment and it was Him who decided that we should livve to serve Him. I AM THAT I AM is telling His people that with out Him nothing can exist and that He will always be there when His chosen people seek Him with the love and respect that He requires us to have in worshiping Him. I AM all things to all people, everything you can ever need or hope for. I AM your only need in Him all your needs are met and have their beginning.
  15. Q2. (Isaiah 57:15) What do you think it is like to "inhabit eternity"? What will it be like when you inhabit eternity with the Eternal God, seated with Christ Jesus in heavenly places? What emotions does this inspire in you I can't imagine what it will be like to live forever. To be forever in the presence of the Living God will be awe inspiring and leave us with the angles saying Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty. To be in the presence of Jesus will leave us filled with wonder. How could I be worthy to be in His presence. Our emotions will be of wonder thankfulness, and love for what He has done for us. We will want to praise Him and worship Him and give Him reverance for being our sacrifice.
  16. That He is First Last and Always. He is the all powerful God,there is none but Him. Thepeople were to know that He was the God of their Fathers and that there was no other God but Him. He was the true God not like their idols which were temperory madw by man they could not do anything for man but take up space. They could not bless the people or in anyway help them out of their problems or get them from under Egypts control. The Egyptian idols were of the sun or moon or other planet and not the true God who could help them. They needed to know the true God and would when Moses brought the plegues that God would tell him to when they refused to let the Isreal people go. That He is First Last and Always. 17. Knowing that the battles is the Lords should give us the courage to face each new day with a need to do our best in everything we do even the things that cause us pain. The Lord will never give us more than we can handle and provides a way out in the things that we need to let go. Brashness is by far the worst it causes me to forget to give God the Glory and to remember that its is about Him and not me. It make me forget to go to Him with all my problems and worries and not rely on myself. Timidity cause me to forget that I have a all powerful God who never leaves nor forsakes me and that with Him on my side I can do all things. Without Him I can do nothing. It causes me to forget that He gives me power to fight each new battle and strength to over come my enimies. The batttles that the Lord will not fight for me are the one I do not ask Him to help me with and the ones that are out of His plan for my life. If I remember to ask and that He is the Commander of Hosts then I will have no worries He will be by my side in all my troubles. Helping to strengthen my faith and giving me new courage for each new day.
  18. The staff of God Moses held was a sign that God was with His people and gave them confidance. When the took their eyes off the pole they lost their focus and the strength that God gives everyone doing His will. They began to think that they were the ones winning the battle taking God's glory for their own this is when they started to lose. God is our Banner our leader in battle as long as we remember that it is He whoo gives us our strenght and not ourselves. Alone we can do nothing but with God as our leader we can do all things. If we keep the faith and never for get that He alone is the savior that we need and look to we will win the prize he has laid up in store for us.
  19. The Garden was a battle that Jesus was fighting for the Father God, He said that all prophicies might be fulfilled. He was doing the Father will and not His own. He was sent for just that moment in time and for that puurpose to die that we might live through HIm being drawn to the Father through His great love and compassion for us. The coming in Revelations will be the Hour of Christ. When HE returns to claim what is already His alone. To redeem those who refuse to take the mark of the beast who chose the right hand of God as their resting place. When He calls out His army they will answere and the evil of this world will flee like the unclean spirits into the herd of swine but this time there will be no where to flee but the lake of fire. Christ will rule and His power will last for ever.
  20. I HAVE ANSWERED THIS QUESTION TWICE BUT FOR SOME REASON IT DOES NOT LOG. i BELIEVE THE COMMANDER WAS CHRIST AND THAT HE WAS TELLING JOSHUA THAT IT WAS NOT FOR HIM TO BE ON JOSHUA'S SIDE BUT FOR HIM TO BE ON THE LORDS SIDE. WE CAN EITHER SERVE GOD OR THE WORLD IT IS OUR CHOICE BUT GOD WILL ALWAYS HAVVE SOME ONE WHO WILL SERVE HIM AND IT IS UP TO US TOCHOSE CORRECTLY. jOSHUA CHOSE RIGHT WHEN HE FELL T THE GROUND AND WORSHIPED THE LORD AND GOT UP WITH A SENSE THAT HE WAS CHOSEN BY GOD TO OVER COME HIS ENEMIES.
  21. He saw through the eyes of the world and Elisha saw through spiritual eyes that only some one filled with faith has. His servant was afraid of the things of the world he had no faith that there was a power far greater than the world that he could look to. Elisha knew the Lord from his master Elijah and knew that throught faith in him he had a powwer greater then was in the world. I can learn from John that I also can rely on the power of God when I face my enemies of the world and like Elisha know that greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. With God on our side who can be against us.
  22. I think that Abram believed in a creator of all things and was devoted to doing good I believe that he had the knowledge of the kings who were good and he gave a tighe to Melchizedek for that reason. From scripture I believe that Melchizedek was a priest king and may have been Jesus in the flesh. He also relied on the Lord Most High he went to him in prayer in solidtary places like the garden. Jesus was our sacrifice, Melchizedek accepted a scrifice from Abram. From Abram we know that he talked to God when he had something troubling him and that the Lord talk to letting him know what to do and what He (GOD) was going to do. This alone gave him reason to want show his love and obedience by giving a tighe and refusimg to let anyone else say that they had made him rich.
