  1. Q4. (2 Corinthians 4:8-12) How does it encourage you to know that Paul went through tremendous stress and pressure? At least I know that I am not alone in this battle and someone has been there. Jesus Christ has been there before Paul and we can follow His examples. What effect did these sufferings have on the way people could see Christ in Paul? Christ suffers so we know that our Christian lifes will be the same. We will suffer, but in the end we will reap what we sow. Why is pain necessary to spiritual growth? Pain is part of maturity in the Christian life. We cannot know how or feel the effect if we don't go or suffer that particular pain. And we can learn about the pain from reading our Bibles daily so we know the experience that has happened to our brothers and sisters in the Bible and also that we would know that we are not alone. How does our pain allow others to assess our authenticity as Christians? If we don't suffer, the authencity won't be there. We will not have the same experiences as those whom have gone before us. And our LORD JESUS CHRIST indicated that we learn by suffering.
  2. Q5. (2 Corinthians 4:15-18) In what way do problems and physical deterioration help us toward "an eternal weight of glory" ? We benefit from it. When we know we are doing something right, but suffering from it because of our doing what GOD wants, but we are being punished for it or hurt because of it, it is counted with our Heavenly Father. Why is it so easy to focus on temporal matters to the exclusion of eternal things? Temporal things are those things we see in our everyday life. For instance, we are always concern about our health. What we will have for dinner and where we should stay or spent the evening. We are only human beings and these are distractions or somethings that we think we cannot live without. Why is a focus on eternal things so important to our spiritual growth? Temporal things won't bring us salvation. It is those eternity things like our salvation and faith in God that will help us gain eternity live. Like in Luke that Jesus told his desciples, that without Christ, they will not be able to go to heaven. What can we do to help shift our focus? Pray for forgiveness. Forgive your neighbor (anyone who did bad things to you; anyone who has wronged you). Be babtized to show that you are deeply and honestly sorry for all the bad things you have done. And don't repeat those sins that you have done before. Go and read the Bible and abide by the Ten Commandments. Make Jesus your first priority in your life and and make Christ as your personal Savior.
  3. Q3. (2 Corinthians 4:7) What truth is Paul seeking to communicate by this analogy of a treasure in a pottery jar? When the word of God becomes part of us, God resides in our lives daily. And by reading and studying His word daily, we become stronger and more filled. What does the clay jar represent? Those who are faithful in Jesus Christ What does the treasure represent? The word of God which we need to fill up in our lives. What's the paradox here? Without God, we are nothing. When the power of God resides in us, others can really sees it.
  4. Q2. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) Since Satan has blinded people's eyes to the truth, is there any hope for them? Each unfaithful person has an opportunity to get to know Christ during his/her lifetime. So there is hope till they come to pass. But as Christian, we also have an opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with these lost souls. If we don't do our part, satan will definitely get them to his side. What strategies must we use to overcome spiritual blindness? We need to intercede with prayer and just spend valuable time with them in learning about God with them and praying for them and have them pray for themselves at times. And let God do His part too. How many people are likely to find Christ without intercessory prayer? None. When they are alive, this is an opportunity for them to come to know Christ personally and allow his Word to sink in them. When they are called by God, no more chance.
  5. Q1. (2 Corinthians 4:1-2) How do questionable ethics and ministry practices hurt the work of Christ? When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour, we have an obligation to tell the truth all the time. God has given us humans the Ten Commandments. And it is our responsibility to abide by God's standard of living. When the Holy Spirit resides in each believer with faith in Christ, the result is eminent. We glow for the people to see the glory of God. We must tell the truth all the time and be honest not only with ourselves but with our Christian brothers and sisters. After all, we are God's ambassador's here on earth. Our walk shall be in-line with our faith so people can see the glory of God in each faithful believer. The Bible is our guideline and standard and Jesus Christ is our personal Saviour. What is Paul's alternative in verse 2b? God has a plan for each and everyone of us who are faithful in Christ. If we feel that we are being deceitful and our walk of faith is not in-line with God's standards, we need to repent and change and follow Jesus Christ. Pray to Him daily so that our walk, our actions, our thoughts, our language, and our lives would glorify our Master who will soon arrived according to His promise for the second coming.

  7. Q1. (2 Corinthians 4:1-2) How do questionable ethics and ministry practices hurt the work of Christ? When you are not sure of a topic, don't preach it or tell others. Questionable ethics and ministry practices can really hurt the work of Christ when we are not even sure and confident of what our message is about. We try to act smart like know what we are talking about, but we are not living it. We go to church daily and carry our Bible and have devotions with our fellow Christians, but in actuality, we are not part of them. When we are spoken to about the Bible, we defend ourselves by pretending to know about the subject or topic. When we are unsure of what we should be talking about, we can ended up lying which is opposite of what God wants us to do. What is Paul's alternative in verse 2b? State the truth openly (amplified Bible).
  8. Q4. (2 Corinthians 3:18) Why is character change directly related to time deliberately spent in God's presence? When we love someone and get to spend time with that person, we became fond of that person and adapt to their character. Therefore, it is like spending more time with GOD and He helps change our attitude and our ways of living to correct and humble under His guidance. What is the theological word for the process of maturing in Christ? Born again. Have you noticed a change in the "degree of glory" you're experiencing now compared to a few years ago? Praying and reading scripture really helps. What I know of GOD now is more than what I know before. When we are born again and accept Christ, the glory begins. And we have to praise GOD daily for His glory. Why or why not? It is a must that we do this daily so the glory of GOD can be realized in us and in others.
  9. Version:1.0 StartHTML:0000000168 EndHTML:0000003271 StartFragment:0000000502 EndFragment:0000003254 Q3. (2 Corinthians 3:18) Moses glowed by spending time with God on Mt. Sinai, in his tent of meeting, and in the Tabernacle. How can we get a similar glow of the Spirit in our lives? We as Christian, must spend time with God in prayer and in reading His word. And really spend time with HIM. Make a schedule for yourself and when to do this. And always praise the LORD always. Pray and think of God all the time. In what way is meditating on Scripture beholding God? Meditating on the word of GOD draws us much closer to the love of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. When we think about word and pray, we know that HE is there with us all the time even in hardtimes. Is the low plane of Christianity in our day related to the time we spend in communion with the Lord? It is related. What is God leading you to do to increase your glow? I can come to the LORD just the way I am, but with an humble heart willing to forgive and forget. When we are on GOD's side, our glow would be visible to everyone including satan who will do all he can do corrupt us.
  10. Q1. (2 Corinthians 3:7-11) Why did Moses'face glow? Because he had spoken with the LORD. Why did he cover it when he was out with the people? The people of Israel was afraid to speak to him because his face was radiant. The Holy Spirit was with him and the Israelite's can actually see it. Why didn't more people's face glow in Moses'time? The Israel people actually sees that Moses had been speaking with the LORD and for his face was radiant with the glory of God. What's the difference between the spread of God's glory in Moses'time when compared to our own time? The difference between Moses time and our time is that during Moses time, God the Father is actually speaking with him. During our time today, the Holy Spirit is the one speaking to us when we really listen and our faith is radiant in the LORD.
  11. The difference between Moses time and our time is that during Moses time, God the Father is actually speaking with him. During our time today, the Holy Spirit is the one speaking to us when we really listen and our faith is radiant in the LORD.
  12. Q4. (2 Corinthians 3:6a) Why is a Christian’s spiritual health so closely related to his or her involvement in ministry? God gave us our gifts and talents and we are to use them 100%. If not, our faith is not reflected and shown. What are the consequences of dropping out of church – for the believer? The Holy Spirit in us is inactive. What are the consequences of dropping out of church - for Christ’s Kingdom? You may not enter the kingdom of GOD.
  13. Q2. (2 Corinthians 3:16-17) Why is the Holy Spirit essential to help people see truth clearly and be able to grasp it? Holy Spirit is the third person of the unity of God and we believe that Christ send the Holy Spirit to be our guidance and helper. If we don't accept Christ as our personal Savior and really believe in what He has done for us, there is no faith in us. And when the Holy Spirit does not dwell in us, His light is not radiant on our face. We don't shine like those who are truly faithful. What enables people to come to Christ at all? The Holy Spirit is the one who enables us in today's society to come to know Christ. What kind of freedom does the Spirit give us when we become Christians? We are assured that we will meet Christ when He returns. Satan will do anything in his power to move us away from GOD, but we can rest assured that by being faithful to GOD and CHRIST, our salvation is guaranteed.
  14. Why is a Christian’s spiritual health so closely related to his or her involvement in ministry? When we attend church services and read the Bible daily, it do us a lot of good and we are spiritually healthy. I can compare this to our eating habit. If we miss a meal a day, we can feel the hunger really getting to our stomach. Our physical being is not well kept and we started to irritate and be uncomfortable. And if we don't read the Bible daily and pray and also go to church services that we can serve our LORD CHRIST, soon our soul will die of hunger. What are the consequences of dropping out of church – for the believer? The consequence is that our faith diminishes. When Satan strikes, we won't know how to deal with what he sends our way and we can loose touch with Jesus Christ. What are the consequences of dropping out of church – for Christ's Kingdom? In the movie Gladiator, the actor said to his war partners, "What we do on earth, echoes into eternity". Dropping out of church, we will definitely ended up in heaven. Nourishment for our soul will diminish for we won't be able to hear and exercise our spiritual gifts which GOD has given us.
  15. Q3. (2 Corinthians 3:4-6) What is the balance between the need for training in ministry (either in the local church or in schools) and personal submission to the Spirit of God? Training can cause us to become humble as a person; however, we need to submit to God in everything. We need to realize we are sinners and that we cannot do it alone. God is our help and our provider. Without HIM nothing is possible. Are you able to "listen to the Spirit's voice" in your own life? Prayer and reading scripture and just being by myself really helps. We have to shut out the world and be alone with God to hear him perfectly. But at times, this is impossible. Training is need to perfect this skill, but you have to allow the Holy Spirit to come into your life. Why would this ability be so important in being a competent minister? A competent minister is very needed in today's church for he is the one can shows good examples which may change lives of those who are lost. When you are humble and firm in your leadership, people follow the way you lead.
  16. Q2. (2 Corinthians 3:2-3) In what sense are we "living letters" ? We are “living letters” when we share with those are not familiar with God's word. We are HIS proof that God existed. In what way can people "read us" ? For example, if we say we love Christ with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our strength, and with all our soul, but living like a criminal who said things that are not biblical, we should not expect people to think otherwise. Why is it so important to be authentic, not phony, in our lives? God desires that we be honest, truthful, and faithful in our lives so this way, we showed that we belong to GOD. What happens when people "read" something in you that they admire and mention it to you? It is pleasing to know, but most of al we glory the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. How might you respond appropriately? Pray for guidance from God.
  17. 1. (2 Corinthians 2:14-16a) In what sense is knowing God fragrant to people who are open to God? In what way is this fragrance repugnant to people who are closed to God? Have you suppressed your "fragrance" because some people are allergic to Christian perfume? If so, how can you regain the fragrance of Christ's gospel? The love of God revived and really is like lightning when it appears in a Christian believer. When we obey Christ fully in acknowledging HIM as our LORD, and when we tell others about Christ love for us, Christ work and authority in those who believes really shows. The fragrance of God really shows when we really know God personally. When we know God, we cannot hide from HIM and we know 100 percent that HE is watching us all the time.
  18. Error @10193 occured. What should I do. I am about to submit lesson 3

  19. "Forgive them Father, for they don't know what they are doing". One of my favorite sayings from the Bible, but yet so hard for me to forgive. Christ forgave us first and yet I just can't forgive my youngest brother for doing bad things to me. I also read in the Bible that we have to forgive our enemies 7 times 70, but just once in my lifetime, I cannot forgive my youngest brother. This is not good for my Christian life. I should be forgiving him, but I have not and I need to. As one that carries a title of preacher in the UCCP church, I need to forgive. It is not good for the soul, because it shows that I don't care about others, but me. Satan is very clever. He will see a place to attack in our life that is considered soft spot and he will attack till we gave in. So we need to pray to God, but first have a forgiving heart before HE can forgive us.
  20. Obedience and faith goes together. There won't be faith if there is no obedience. As a leader in the church, you must show obedient toward GOD first and then toward your brothers and sisters. You need to pray for obedience so you know how to discern what is to be obedient to and what is not to be obedient to. Obey Christ, but don't obey satan. We have to obey our church leaders, but pray to GOD to help us discern what is right and what is not.
  21. The Holy Spirit is a spirit being that no one can see, but it resides in those who have faith in Jesus Christ. When you have the Holy Spirit in you, people who have the faith can really see that He resides in you. Even the unbelieve will see the glow. He is the one telling us everything about GOD and JESUS; informing us who they are and how we should show our respects and also praying. The presence of the Holy Spirit in my life is very significant in the fact that He is the one telling how to behave and also how to respond to those in need. By having the Holy Spirit in me is a sign that I am a true believer in Christ and also HE is very active in my life in informing me to discern between right and wrong. The Holy Spirit is our mediator, He is the communication between us and GOD. He is our communication line between you and GOD. By having the Holy Spirit in each believer means that each of us can communicate with God and the best of all is that we have a relationship with GOD.
  22. The meaning of "lord it over" in my own opinion is to take advantage of someone. I may force my cousin to do something that he does not want to do. Maybe his wife is telling him to do something for her, but I am forcing or lord it over to him to go with me to do whatever I want him to do. What is the balance between good strong leadership, micromanaging and a complete "laissez-faire approach to leadership? What I observe in our UCCP churches here in Pohnpei is that sometimes leadership is good and sometimes it is bad based on whomever is leading as Chairman of the congregation. Based on how they were raised up, some of the leaders may take advance of those in the lower positions. The leadership style they use might be just "take and take" leadership style, but not everyone work toward a common goal. What are the dangers of authoritative leadership style? Authoritative leadership is not a good thing to do in a church since it can really effect your relationship with your church people, but that is how some people do leadership especially here at the UCCP church. When you are given or elected to this position, the power make those leaders forgot that they were being elected or appointed to lead the people. What are the dangers of a weak leadership style? Weak leadership style may effect your relationship with church members in the matter that you would let people go about their own ideas in how to run the church.
