  1. We know that since the battle is the Lord
  2. It was the means for Moses to rally the troops against their enemy as well as to show them that their Almighty God was with them and would win victory for them; and the same thing for us when we pray before, during, and after our battles with our flesh, the world, and the devil so that the Lord (as well as other Christian believers) come to our aid and we are then all victorious over these battles of ours that we face and won by the might and power of our Almighty God! Amen!
  3. Jesus had to be alone on the cross and face the full-force of God
  4. Jesus has finished His work of being our sacrificial Lamb of God on the altar when He died for us, first choosing us as His own people, and then giving up His life voluntarily for us as His lost sheep, which we aren
  5. This fifth word on the cross shows us all the humanity as well as the fully-divineness of Christ Jesus and that He fully and totally fulfilled all of the Scriptures about His death on the cross at Calvary, and the agony and aloneness He had experienced on the cross for my sake and for the sake of the other chosen believers in Christ Jesus throughout the centuries! No one can or will ever understand all that our Lord Jesus went through on the cross or in His death, even in eternity, but we can understand these bits and pieces of it and then to give Him the thanks and praise He deserves from us, His people, throughout eternity we will ever praise and thank Him as we bow down to Him truly as our Lord and our Savior! Amen!
  6. This cry of anguish from the lips of our Savior on the cross teaches us that there is no other love or service greater then the one He did for us to die on the cross at Calvary; and because of the greatness and vastness of all of our sins, our Lord Jesus was separated from His heavenly Father at that time as He is the sacrificial Lamb for the atonement of our sins forever and ever! The Effect of this should make us want to praise and worship Him for all that He did for us; to love Him more and more each and every day; and to show His love in us to all of the people we meet in our daily walk by being servants to them as He is to us as His chosen people! Amen!
  7. Of course, the most obvious reason is that John, His beloved disciple, was standing right there at the foot of the cross and was available (unlike any of the other disciples) to be responsible to do the job he was given to do; but also because the Lord knew all of His disciples
  8. We all are responsible for putting Jesus on the cross for redeeming us from the penalty of all of our sins, which is death and everlasting separation from God our heavenly Father; and Jesus was praying for us because we were His chosen children from the beginning, and were responsible for His death on the cross for us and for the forgiveness of all of our sins; so now we have been forgiven and can come into an awesome and great fellowship with our holy God as well as to be with Him forever in eternity! Amen!
  9. Just as mentioned above as the Nicene Creed affirms that Jesus is fully Man and fully Divine; and the only possible way Jesus could be both is because of this doctrine of the virgin conception, otherwise, man would have some involvement and this was not true at all
  10. Gideon widely influenced Israel through his own life-time, in many good ways such as in defeating the Midianites and bringing peace to Israel during his life; and in some bad ways he made the choices of revenge against his enemies, and making an ephod out of the spoils of warfare that only the high priest was to have and causing his household and all of Israel to worship it as an idol instead of worshiping the One true God Jehovah. The positive continuing effect of his leadership as a judge over Israel is that his life and his high as well as low points in his life were recorded in the Word of God for our benefit so we can learn what it means to be a godly leader as well as godly followers; and the things we have to be aware of them so we don
  11. A snare or trap is anything or anybody that takes away one
  12. Spiritual unfaithfulness is looked upon as prostitution or adultery because when we do such things we break at least the first two of the Ten Commandments and must confess this as our sin of unfaithfulness or spiritual adultery to our Lord our God and ask Him for forgiveness and His help in not doing it again. Since we are part of the church as the bride of Christ, when we fall down before other things or people and worship them, then we are breaking our part of God
  13. Gideon asks for his reward from the spoils of the Midianites enemies God used him to destroy all of them and plunder them for their riches; and the Israelites, holding Gideon in high esteem, gave him a lot of gold
  14. Gideon refuses to be the king over Israel because it would go against the rule of their God over the whole nation as their sovereign King, and God
  15. To take his revenge on these two Midianites kings for killing part of his family unjustly, and I think that in those days it was justly done to fulfill a family obligation since the two kings were not Israelites to begin so they couldn
  16. He punished both of these Israelite cities because he and his men were hungry and they refused to give them anything to eat, so he told them that when the Midianites leaders were caught and punished by them, then he would punish these 2 cities on his way back home and he did. Their sin was in mocking him as well as refusing to give fellow Israelites food and water so they could be sustained for the mop-up operation. Yes, Gideon did exactly what he promised to do so he was just in doing these things as an example also to the other Israelites, just as our Lord God will do exactly what He says He will do against our (and His) enemies someday when His Son returns to the earth. A Christian that refuses to give aid to another in need is guilty of this same sin (see James 2:14-17) as this person is not only guilty of it but needs to examine him or herself as to whether he/she is really not
  17. They were able to smote them and vanquish the Midianites, all of the 15,000 men in Karkor because the Midianites had fled across the Jordan and thought they were safe there from any harm; but Gideon and his force of 300 snuck up on them and attacked them and captured their two kings. The Midianites had let their guard down (so to speak) and were clobbered by Gideon and his small army. When we deal with problems, letting our guards down and only dealing with them
  18. Most likely Gideon divided his army into three companies so they would be spread out to surround the Midianites in their camp, and they would be able to create more feeling of fear among them that they were a much larger army then only 300 soldiers (and they were, having God on their side), the enemy was overwhelmed and confused and started killing each other instead of the 300 Israelites! Gideon and his soldiers created even more confusion when they blew their trumpets broke their empty jars, and their torches to awaken the enemy and make them think that they were being attacked by a bigger army then they had. This strategy worked for 2 key reasons: one, that God was the One who had them create confusion in their ranks, and He fought and won the battle for them (all that Gideon
  19. The rolling barley loaf coming into and hitting a large tent so hard that it turned the tent over and the tent fell flat means that by the sword of Gideon, his small army of men will completely defeat the many Midianites in the battle. The Lord shows Gideon this dream and its interpretation to encourage him so he will worship the Lord first and then go into battle with the Midianites already knowing the outcome of the battle that the Lord will use Gideon
  20. Actually, none at all even though I, too, have heard several sermons on this indicating that the so-called
