  1. Q1. (Galatians 1:11-12) What is the source of Paul’s gospel? Paul's gospel is purely a revelation by Jesus Christ. How do we know that it is a true revelation? In Matthew 12:25-28, Jesus tells us that no kingdom, city or even spirit devided against itself can stand. Paul was well known for his persecution of the church (serving the interest of Satan's kingdom) before his conversion which was as a result of encounter with the power of the kingdom of God (now serving against the interest of Satan's kingdom). His ministry stood the test of time confirming the fact that it is truly a revelation from How does it conform to our other foundational sources of Christian teaching? Paul's gospel is in conformity with that of other Apostles. Both gospel reject circumcision as a requirement for salvation What is the danger of taking the teaching of contemporary leaders as our doctrinal basis without checking it with the Scripture? Such teaching could be as a result of sense knowledge which lack the power of the Holy Spirit to build our faith in God, but rather cast doubt on our minds and could lead us astray. There have been reports of supposedly Christians who trust thier pastor more than the word of God in ignorance.
  2. The Judaizers’ message as clearly stated by Paul is no good news at all, rather a message from the devil (thieve) who is out to steal, kill and destroy the purpose of God in the lives of the Christians (Jn. 10:10). Such a message is dangerous in that it can ruin the faith of these believers as a result of the confusion they are thrown into and consequently led back into captivity. Unbalanced interpretation of the gospel is prevalent today. It started in the days of Adam and eve from the same source (Gen. 3:1-7). It is a subtle way by Satan to discredit the fact that salvation is a gift received through faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross alone. Twisted gospel which is no gospel in real sense “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (1 Tim. 3:5). Because it is no gospel, it cannot achieve the same result as the gospel; it lack the “….power of God unto salvation…..” (Rom. 1:16) This perverse gospel negates faith and as such leads to the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21)
  3. Accoding to Gal.1:4, Jesus gave Himself for the purpose of rescuing us from our sin. The whole world (human race) is lost in sin (Rom. 3:23). Not only are we lost in sin, we are taken captive by the devil and we are in need of a rescuer. Jesus Christ the rescuer came to set us free. Jesus rescue people today the same way as before: through the gospel (Psalm 107:20; Rom. 1:16; Rom. 10:13-15) Jesus keeps us from falling back to our sin by giving us His Holy Spirit who empowers us with grace to so NO to sin (Titus 2:11-12)
