  1. Jesus did not call on the heavenly host in Gethsemane because they would not have let men mistreat and crucify Him. They are always ready to fight and, with power from God, they certainly vanquish and win. It was not the right moment for them to act, but it was the moment for Jesus to carry out the salvation of the world through His death. But Jesus will call on His host when the time of mercy will be over and God
  2. The Commander said that he was on neither side because he was there to direct and conduct his own army. He was not there to follow somebody else
  3. Here I learn that holiness is a part of God
  4. The expression "Most High" makes me think of the greatness of the Lord and His absolute authority over everything that is not Himself, all the creation. God is in His Throne, in a place that is impossible for me or anyone else to reach. So, from His own majesty, He sent His Son to reach us, to come down from His fullness, to be the way back to Him. I wll use this title in my prayers to acknowledge that God is the Lord of lords and the King of kings, that nobody and nothing is as great as He is. I will also give Him thanks for the fact that we received the gift of salvation simply because He is as merciful as He is great and powerful.
  5. In a time when people believed in so many gods, Abram and Melchizedek proclaim the existence of only One God, the one who created heaven and earth, and who has all the power over any situation, like that of the war they had just lived. Today, there still are many modern gods, such as money, fame, social status, a lover, etc., but there is only one God, the true God, the Most High God, also referred to as The Lord in the passage.
