  1. Koinonia-is the relationship to the blood of Christ and to the Body of Christ as used by Paul. Actual meaning is sharing/participating/communion with others. For the purposes of this lesson I believe it mean the BELIEVER'S RELATIONSHIP TO THE BLOOD OF CHRIST AND TO THE BODY OF CHRIST.
  2. Because he was concerned and saying that you could not share in the Cupo of the Lord and Cup of the Demons and expect the reap the rewards of both.
  3. Although we will be beside him as he battles the enemy without believing him and having full faith in him we will not reap the reawrds of his vistory. As it said in the lesson we need to prepare for battle as well. I believe that the Psalm 44:4-7a certainly gives us the enitre answer. "You are my King and my God. You command victories for your people. Onlyby your power can we push back our enemies; only in your name can we trample our foes. I do not trust my bow; I do not count on my sword to sav me. It is you who gives us victory over our enemies.
  4. Moses was using his rod as a rallying point for his troops. The Lord is our banner because having full faith in the Lord and believing in him, he always stand behind us and certainly helps us make the right choices to fulfill a bountiful life.
  5. Jesus did not call on the heavenly host because the battle was won before it even started. It was not a battle that was going to be won by death, swords, and useless fighting. Gethsemane was the chosen place for Jesus to win this battle. Even though Jesus wase ultimateley crucified he had won his battle because he saved his faithful followers from sin. When Jesus does call his hevaenly hosts it is going to be the battle of all battles. He again will be triumphant, Oh what a beautiful day it will be.
  6. Elisha's servant was afraid becausehe did not hold complete faith and when seeing the armies out the window and not having faith with Elisha of what you have when you are faithful to the Lord, he thought he would be destroyed. For our eyes to be opened we just need to have continual full faith in the Lord, everyday looking and seeing the wonderful things the Lord does for you and me. 1 John 4:4, can strengthen us in our spiritual battle because as long as we believe in the Lord and have our full faith in him, we are his children. the Spirit that lives in us is stronger than the the spirit that lives in the world.
  7. Just look at this verse that was in the lesson, "Forwhenever you eat this bread and drink this cup you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes" Whether communion is celebrated weekly, monthly, quarterly, hopefully it is celbrated for all the same reasons. I am a 55 year old man and in my life have been to many services, whether I celebrated communion once a month, or weekly I celbrated it for the same reasons. Communion is a very important part in my life and my personal opinion I believe it should be celebrated weekly. One of the ladies in the class said that her church celebrates communion quarterly and it has become more of a burden on the ushers thanfor the true celebration. When the proclamation shifts to a different central them it just becomes another thing.
  8. It is extremely important that we remember Christ's death, not for what he did for himself but for what he did for mankind. If we do not remember in this way Chrisitianity will not continue and would be forgotten. I think the big reason is that we will nopt be saved and would be drawn down the wrong path by the wrong people.
  9. The purpose of the Passover meal was designed as a feast of remembrance and celebrated as a festival to the Lord. through History if the Exodus was not remembered and properly recelebrated as the Lord requested we would have never known it to be.
  10. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT IT BECOMES MUNDANE, MYSELF. I BELIEVE THAT REPEATING TAKING COMMUNION (SOME CHURCHES ONCE A MONTH & SOME CHURCHES EVERY SUNDAY) YOU ARE CELEBRATING WITH THE LORD, JESUS CHRIST AND THE WONDERFUL THING THAT WAS GIVEN THE EARTH BY CHRIST'S CRUCIFIXION. THAT IS WHY CHRISTIANS NEED TO HAVE COMPLETE FAITH IN THE LORD. AS A CHRISTIAN I AM HONEORED TO BE ABLE TO CELEBRATE BY "BREAKING BREAD" (BODY) AND DRINKING WINE4 (BLOOD), IN REMEMBRANCE OF HIM.
  11. BECAUSE WE NEED TO REMEMBER THAT GOD LOVES US ALL. ALTHOUGH THE ARMIES WERE BATTLINGHE CRUMBLED THE WALLS ON THE NON-BELIEVERS AND LEFT A SMALL ARMY (FOLLOWERS) TO INTERACT WITH. DURING THE ENCOUNTER JOSHUA FELT USELESS, HELPLESS AND UNSURE. AFTER THE ENCOUNTER JOSHUA FELT STRONG, VERY SURE OF HIMSELF BECAUSE HE WITNESSED THE POWER AND GLORY OF GOD.
  12. "In remembrance of me" Because each time I take communion, I think of the bread/cracker as the body of Christ and the wine/grape juice as the blood of Christ, and I take this in remembrance of Christ who life was given to save me from my sins. WOW!
  13. When I partake of communion at church, breaking bread symbolizes that the body of Christ, and the wine the blodd of Chist was basically sacrificed to save me from sin. Basic
  14. [quote name='Pastor Well I believe that if we take the symbolism (literally) it becomes a game. My mother and Grandmother when I was a child and brought up in the church< I always asked if I could have a drink and a piece of bread (Before I knew what it was for). I heard once a month the reason for communion but it went in one ear and out the other. When I asked my Grandmother and Mother for the Sunday treat, thier response was, "What are you taking this for". Not until I was Baptized in the 7th Grade and realized why I was baptized and why we took communion was I allowed to partake. The balance is where christians need to realize although you might be "breaking bread or crackers" or drinking "wine or grape juice" that what this is actually symbolizes is the "Jesus Christ" was crucified in (body) on the cross and his (Blood) was shed to Save the world from sin. Each Sunday that I take communion I listen to what the Pastor says and it usually is pretty much the same thing but, but each time I hear the words "body" and "blood" I really look and see what those words really mean to me about Chist.
  15. When I partake of communion I have a figerative understanding that breaking the bread and drinking the blood, is basically sharing with the Lord the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and for us to understand why and what Jesus Christ was goiven by the Lord for.
  16. Hello, My name is Bob Ortendahl, I am a 55 year old novice in the knowledge of bible studies but what an awesome thing these bible studies are. I am learning so much and I am following Gods calling for me. God Bless You All.
  17. These two titles "King of Glory" and "Father of Glory", to me mean that believing in The Lord and giving your full faith to him that we will be able to share in his Glory in the Kingdom of Heaven, that he created. We need to have a full righ attitude in God and not just a superficial understanding as we worship the Lord. "2 Corinthians- tells us that "Our veil has been removed" meaning that we have been saved through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, who was crucified to save all from thier sins. If we continue to follow the teachings of the Lord, and have complete faith in him we will enjoy the Glory of God, and as he workds within us that we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. WOW! This Bible Study is Such an Awesome Feeling.
  18. I learn that God is high above, but watching over us, and knowing what happens everyday to us. God is up above watching over us as a Shepherd watches his flock. Affecting me in the way that I know that even one minute I might be paying attention to work, he is paying attention and watching over me..
  19. Most High to me means above all, no others above, the sovereign. Incorporating into my worship will be continued as I have the past 55 years. I beleieve and with worship the Lord, Jesus Christ the one and only.
