  1. Verse 5 tells us if we lack wisdom, to ask God and he will freely give it to us. We are also told that we must not doubt when we ask. We must have faith before we have wisdom. You cannot have one without the other. I think that trials help us to gain a better or different perspective. I have, so many times looked back after a trial and seen the awesome work God has done and been in awe. The wisest people in this world are the ones who have been through a tremendous amount of strife but all the while they were letting God carry them instead of going on thier own.
  2. Trials help us to truly come before the Lord.James tells us that "we are unstable inall our ways". Apart from God we are unstable and "double minded", but if we come before the Lord and ask for His wisdom in our trials we will not falter. This takes alot of faith.
  3. Verse 13 tells us that God cannot tempt us with evil. God has no evil desires so he does not tempt us that way. We are all sinful people. We sin because we are sinners. Those evil desires abide in us. This is the nature of spiritual warfare. God allows people to sin because of free will. He is such a loving God that he gives us a choice.
  4. Hi! My name is Meg. I live in Florida and I am really excited to be starting this bible study. I am the mother of four beautiful girls and have been married for seven years to a wonderful man. (his testimony is awesome!) God has blessed our family and marriage! It is amazing to see the way God has worked in our lives over the years. I look forward to growing in Christ with all of you!
  5. As I have grown in my faith my perspective on my trials has changed. I realize that trials are a way for God to refine us becuase he loves us. I have, however, not always handled these trials in a Godly manner. I find it easier to run from God than towards him in the trials. I know that I should be on my knees in communion with God. I am a sinner and I sometimes find it hard to humble myself before him. It is something I work on everyday.
